Buena Vista Palace or Doubletree

We always stay onsite at WDW but we are looking for a cheaper alternative this year. We can get both the BVP and the Doubletree for close to the same price. Any of you ever stay at either of these and can tell me which one would be the nicest? Or if you can tell us anything about either one. There are just two of us--adults, no kids.
