We have a trip planned for WDW in late May/early June. I have booked our Disney resort stays, but I need to book our hotel stays for the drive there and back. Do you think that it's cheaper to book them now (super early) or closer to the time of the trip??? I am a AAA member, but I'm wondering if their prices will go down in a few months...

Thanks for your budgeting wisdom!!! :sunny:

i'm not sure, but i would love to know also.. because we want to stay at a resort this time... and last time we tried to book to late and they were booked way up

We always just stop at the interstate rest areas and get the free coupon books, then look for a place. Out of about 20 times doing this, only once did we wind up in a real dump. One time when we wanted to stay around Gainesville, some college event had all the rooms full and we had to drive another 30 minutes or so. Usually the first or second place we check has availability. Unless you're hitting the Memorial Day holiday weekend, you will probably be fine in most areas.

Another option would be to wait until the last minute and use Priceline. We had good luck with that once, but found it's too hard to predict where we want to stop. Either traffic and the weather makes us want to stop earlier than where we planned or we aren't ready to stop and want to keep driving.

I'd book now, using a refundable rate. You can alsways get it adjusted or rebook and cancel if rates go down. You never know what might come up to make it difficult to find a room or have them become very expensive down the road.
