We move into our new home in 5 days , YEAH!

Our trip was supposed to be for this Oct but now we are planning for Spring 2005 or my preference of Oct 2005. I want to know what kind of holiday I can have with $6000.00

We are 5 ppl , we have to fly from east coast (Moncton), would like to stay for at least 10 days,...

I really want this to be great but now with the new house I don't want to go overboard either!

Help, any advice would be appreciated!

First question, were you planning on onsite or off? How old are your kids? Were you hoping to do US/IOA as well, or Sea World?

We're a family of four...and $6000 is certainly doable...but lots can depend on the exchange rate too:)

Here's where we are for our trip in Jan - out of Hfx
Airfare for four: $1500CDN
Accomodations for 18 nights:$1000CDN (We're renting a 5bdr house with my mom and dad, and DB and DSIL:) )
Car rental: a midsize with Budget is pricing today without any codes at: $362USD
Tickets: We're just going to WDW, last year we bought 30DayFITS passes, that cost $1500Cdn for the 4 of us
Spending/Grocery$$: I usually budget $75-100USD/day

HTH!!

:sunny:

We hope to do WDW (5PHP), 2 days at Water parks and maybe 2 days at Seaworld that's 9 days in parks then have at least 1 or 2 to rest , do other things,etc...

Acommodations, we were thinking of the Double Tree because of the proximity, the kitchen area and it can fit 5 ppl.

My kids are now 11 yrs and twins that are 8 yrs (all boys)

I would do a 2 bedroom condo from skyauction.com for about $350 Canadian a week!!! We were 3 miles from WDW (some are even closer) and we had a full kitchen, washer/dryer and dishwasher and 2 bathrooms...

We love skyauction. I have gotten 7 weeks from them and love it. Best part all that space and you don't have to do a timeshare tour either...

We have flown but we flew from Halifax as the prices for flights here in Moncton are horrible but are getting better.

If there is anything I can do to help...Let me know.

Edited to add that it's $350 a week for the condo...I am very bad at math...

I also would do a week at skyauction and the other 3 days off-site.
Resort total-$261 US or $350 CDN(condo)

5 adult PHP= $254 x5=$1270 US or$1715 CDN(assuming the twins have turned 9)
5 tickets to seaworld are $55 x5=275 CDN
Airfare=$1850 CDN(based on Mbb total)

Rental car $250 US or $340 CDN

Food- $100 a day x 10 =$1000 US or $1330 CDN

My total is $5860 CDN and I have not included the other 3 nights, tolls, snacks, souvineers, and if you want to do any character meals.

Hey,

You guys are making me feel like I can actually do it!

The kids have already saved for their spending $$, the 11 yr old has 125.00 CAD, and the 8 yr olds have about 90.00 each saved so they're OK.

So one week at sky auction ( any recommendations where?) and 3 days off site, my husband would love to stay at the Hard Rock for a night or two, is it worth it? Remember it is a once in a lifetime trip, after that we are saving for the honeymoon we never had in New York City, then another family trip when the kids are teens to England, my husband's grandmother was from England.

Thanks again, once in awhile I get nervous about the whole thing and spending that amount of $$.

HRH is beautiful. We always split our stay and between Disney and Universal.
