Budget Wedding

This might make some of your scream, so I apologize in advance.

DBF (common law husband basically) and I are going to disney world for our honeymoon Sept. 30 - Oct. 7. We threw all our money into the trip and have very little leftover for the actual getting married part.

In fact, we don't want to spend any money on the wedding at all if it can be avoided. My question is, who else here is doing a budget wedding just so they can do a big disney honeymoon?

How much might it cost to do a justice of the peace wedding, with no dresses, only a couple guests and basic wedding rings?

Well i guess it is different in each state, but its just the State application fee (think florida is still 30dollars) for the wedding, and the price of whatever ring you pick out....My sister-in-law went to the court house...got the app. and had the judge do it all within the same hour...Goes under whatever makes you happy..

I wish I was in florida then, lol. Turns out the fee here in Canada is $100 for the license and $100 for the wedding ceremony in the court house.

So come here to Florida and elope, or have you friends n family join you. If you are staying on WDW, then you could always get someone to come to your room to perform the ceremony!

Actually, it's $94 bucks for the license here and $30 for the ceremony.

A marriage ceremony performed in Florida would be perfectly legal here in Canada and there's nothing more you would have to do in Canada legally - except if you are going to change your name. But I believe you will only require your Florida marriage license in order to do that.

There are a few places in the Orlando area that have "Vegas" style marriages...the type you walk in with your license and get 'hitched'. They range from very simple to more elaborate. You can get married by a notary in Florida....they are evrywhere!!!!!!!
Good Luck!!! Florida is an awesome place to get married. We just need our drivers licenses....very quick and easy.
