Hi all,

I am planning a 2 day trip this summer to see Niagara Falls. I think I have it narrowed down to 2 hotels.

Hampton Inn North of the Falls
(free breakfast, free parking, free wifi, indoor pool) is about 1.2 miles to the falls, so I believe we would have to use the people mover a lot.) is about $235 for 2 nights with taxes

Choice 2

Hojo by the falls

I can get a package that includes breakfast @ dennys, a dinner voucher and attractions for a little bit more, but in a similar ballpark if you got them ala carte for the other hotel.

This hotel appears to be within walking distance to a lot of attractions, has an indoor/outdoor pool & a small waterslide. Parking is $8 CA or somewhere around $10 USD I believe. This is $432 with taxes, but includes the adventure pass which costs about $145, which I would have to buy with the other hotel.

This isnt a luxury trip, as its just a couple night summer getaway, but I dont want to be in a gross hotel either! Help me pick please!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance!!!!!

I can't offer much as far as hotel advice because we live too close to need to stay in a hotel. However, if you do a search of the boards, this topic comes up pretty frequently and there is some great info in the threads. Also- travelzoo always has great deals for things in Niagara Falls. If you want to drive closer to the falls and park on the Canadian side instead of using the people mover, the casinos usually have free parking if you go in and register for their player's card. Don't even need to use it, just have it. It is very easy to drive around Niagara Falls. Also- don't consider paying full price or any of the attractions without scouring the pamphlets. You can find coupons for many attractions at any time. Your hotel concierage should be familiar with these things. Have a great trip!

The adventure pass is only $45 (https://secure.ticket-ops.com/Niagara_Falls_Great_Gorge_Adventure_Pass/eDirect) unless you meant that was the price for everyone in your party. IDK $400 is enough to stay somewhere really nice and HOJO's is just OK. Hard to say. I've never stayed there just walked by it and seen it. Denny's is really expensive in Niagara Falls so if you are really wanting to eat there it may be worth it. It's nice to be within walking distance of everything. There's a Four Points by the casino which is nice. I would maybe check Trip Advisor for the most recent reviews.

As for the Hampton Inn and using the People Mover I found the people mover kind of inconvenient to get to some places. I stayed in a B&B one year and it was down river road a ways and we figured we could take the people mover but there were times it came only every 45 minutes and we would get sick of waiting and just walk. It would take 30 minutes to walk to the tourist area. By the time we got there the people mover would pass us. That was annoying. It didn't run after 10 or 11 I think too.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Nof. It was nice and we walked or used the people mover. It was not a problem at all.

I do not even know what the people mover is...we stayed at Marriott on the falls..canadian side..we did not book until in the parking lot and we got a great deal, overlooking wedding something falls....we walked down to the ride....
The "tix" price packages are discounted and offered everywhere, and the hotels UP the prices...so seriously try to get a pamphlet or purchase them anywhere in one of the stores for a bigger discount.
The maid of the Mist is not to be missed.....talk about AMAZING....simply beyond amazing.........
have a great time. Oh, and anywhere we went to eat was $$$, so be prepared, I am talking basic foods were a huge rip and we come for NY....so yeah we're used to higher prices, lol. We went to some fort, the name escapes me....if you like history, look into it, they all know the name, and it was nearby....enjoyable for history buffs.

We came back from Niagara Falls this week. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and loved it. We were looking for something that would allow us to stay as cheap as possible. We are a family of 5 and it was perfect for all of us.

The breakfast had hot foods as well as cold. They had waffles, french toast sticks, and biscuits and gravy. There was a fresh fruit salad and hard boiled eggs. Plenty of cereals and pastries too. We were happy with the breakfast.

It was about a 10 minute walk to the falls. We found it very easy to do. After our long walks in Disney, it was easy.

I would highly recommend the Hampton Inn.

thank you! Which Hampton Inn was it you stayed at? The one called "at the falls" or "North of the Falls"? At the Falls is much more expensive for our dates. thanks so much everyone for their thoughts.

We stayed at the Hamptons North of the falls once, it was at least 5 years ago and we were happy with it. Hotels in Niagra Falls are very expensive in the summer so that seems like a decent price for a decent hotel. Don't bother with the denny's vouchers, once we stayed at the Hilton for 2 nights in Niagra Falls anf it came with breakfest vouchers for both mornings. We went the first morning but paid to go someone else the next day the food was so horrible. That says alot because my DH id super cheap and for him to pass up a free meal to pay for another speaks volumes:lmao: I don't know if all Denny's are the same as that is the only one we have been to, my DH rufuses to ever eat at one again. Have a fun trip and check out the butterfly condervatory if you get a chance.
