Hi everyone! My long distance boyfriend and I have both visited Disney this year (he in August and I in March) so neither of us are in the financial position to spend heaps of money on a vacation, but we'd like to spend time together on a quality vacation since we rarely are able to.

We were looking at going early to mid December - hopefully before the crowds invade! We want to stay for a full week and visit the parks 4 or 5 days, preferably with hopper passes. Our biggest dilemma (besides getting time off work) is deciding where to stay and what to eat and when.

We've talked about packing lunches for the parks and eating at quick-serve restaurants for dinner each day and having one night of dining in, but I'd like to hear of anyone's experiences with meal plans, dining schedules and reservations. Also, would anyone recommend a moderate or value resort? Or would a Holiday Inn in Lake Buena Vista be a better deal?

We want to spend between 1.7 and 2.3k. Thanks for any input! :)

You would have to compromise a little, but Disney is offering a free dining package vacation for 12-12 to 12-22. There are other dates, but this is the closest from the date you mentioned. For this deal you have to do 6 nights. You don't have to do 6 days of parks tickets, but you can. I think the requirement is 2 days of park tickets with the deal.

If you stay at a Disney value resort you would get 2 quick service meals and a snack each day. If you want you can do an up charge of $18 each and upgrade to the regular dining plan which would give you one table service meal a day and a quick service and a snack each day.

Both plans give you a refillable mug that you can use during your stay.

You have to book the deal by September 15.

This is what I would do in your case. It will meet your budget requirements and you will have better meals and a little longer stay.

Thank you! I've looked into some package deals, I'm just not sure we'll be able to book by the 15th :/.

Use snack credits on breakfast, refillable mug with hot choc, then get a bagel and cream cheese and a fruit using 2 snack credits for breakfast, then you can eat 3 full meals a day on regular dining plan
