I am a car nut, and was wondering if anyone had a chance recently to rent from Budget. We are taking a DCL cruise and are renting a car from MCO to Cape Canaveral. I reserved a intermediate car.

Does anyone know what the current fleet of intermediate includes. I know Budget is a "Ford" fleet, but Ford doesn't really have any models that are intermediate in size. The have the focus (sub compact) and then the Fusion (midsize to full size).

Thanks I would appreciate it. I am a car nut and like to know what I will be driving.

This is so funny. I have a similar post right now. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1148972

We rented a full size instead of the intermediate for just a few dollars more.

Why doesn't Budget list the cars that are under each class? I REALLY don't like this "or similar" thing. If you read my thread, you'll see that a full size is listed as a Ford Taurus or similiar and AFTER I made my reservation it printed with a Hyundai Sonata (or similiar). I'm really sweating over this!!!!

I definitely want to know my choices in cars. Yes, nothing "guarenteed", I just want to know the POSSIBILITIES!!!! I that too much to ask?

Oh, we're also doing a DCL cruise. So, for us it's MCO to WDW for a couple days and then to Port Canaveral. Then PC to WDW to MCO. Budget had the best rates for us, but I like to know that I was comparing SIMILIAR cars (we've usually used National in the past).

I'll be interested in reading other replies.

I see in your signature - we'll be getting off the magic when you're getting on. Cool.

Call Budget, they will be able to tell you what they have at your pick up location.

They often have Mazdas. I believe the 626 used to be the midsize/intermediate car. As I said in a prior post, call them, they can tell you what is available at your pickup location.

All car rental agencies use the " or similar" term. It gives you and idea of the size. There is nothing wrong, btw, with a Sonata, they are a good sized car and IMHO way more dependable than a Ford.

Besides the fact its the worst car as far as using some american components, well just leave that argument outside of the disboards :thumbsup2

We have rented from Budget several times..and have been very pleased. We have rented a Grand Marquis...it is a Lincoln. Same company..a Ford. Equivalent Ford would be the Crown Victoria. We used a code from Mousesavers..a general code to the public ..believe it was a Walmart code that gave it to us for $300. for the week. Taxes..and all the extra stuff included. I think that's pretty good for a 6 passenger vehicle. We wanted something large to accomodate four adults comfortably..we are either 5 or 6 all together and didn't want a mini van..and we drive an SUV at home,( another Ford...an Expedition ..ha ha!) and opted for something different when we travel. This vehicle has a HUGE trunk...big enough to accomodate everyones luggage. The cars have been cleaned and the lines short at the counter. Check out the mousesaver codes for different car rental agencies you can save quite a bit.
