OK so how do you budget pin trading into your Disney budget ?

We have 2 kids Ds 5 yrs old and once DD 2 yrs old sees him trading she will want too .
So my question is how much is all this pin stuff ? Lanyard ?
Can I buy any of it cheaper then at Disney ?
Will there be a special pin for mnsshp ?
How many pins do you start your kids off with ?

thanks for nay tips

I bought quite a few pins to star at disneyDirects sale. You can buy them in bulk on Ebay. Sometimes as cheap as $2.50 a pin. Pins range from $6 to over $10. Lanyards I have seen online about $10 with a starter pin. Disneydeals.com has pins and sometimes lanyards. The outlet malls have pins cheaper too.. Yes they have special pins for MNSSHP. I'm giving my kids each 5 and they can choose to get more if they want. with their souvenier money that is.

You can get a free pin if your buying Pal Mickey if you play the game on Disneyworld.com. I have also heard rumors that you get a lanyard and pin if you are using Magical express. Let's hope that's true.

I have seen other lanyards you can use a TRU and stuff. Thinking about one of those for my so since it's Red Sox.

Also this week Walgreens has their Energizer batteries on sale for $3.99 and it includes a free disney pin. I stocked up and bought 10 packs this week. :)

There are TONS of great pin deals on eBay. We've purchased several lots and have never had a problem. We usually end up paying between $2.50 and $3 for trader pins. Just make sure they are real Disney Pins (check the sellers feedback). We've never had a problem with any that we've purchased! We are completely stocked up on traders for our trip in December! Sure beats paying $6.50-$10 in the parks just to go and trade them!! (Which is what we did in March, cause we didn't think we'd get into pin trading, but once you start, it's addictive!!) Our DD (5) LOVES to go up to CM's and look at their pins!

In fact, the other day at Sam's Club the associate was wearing pins, and our DD wanted to look at them!! I had to explain that we couldn't trade there! LOL!! :flower:

I've been collecting since they started doing pins years ago so the collection I have I don't want to trade (I collect villains). So this past trip, I bought some on ebay that were tradeable (do your research, they aren't all tradeable). I think I paid like $12 (for 10 pins) and anytime I saw a pin I wanted, I didn't feel bad about giving one up.

I'd buy a small collection of random pins (5 maybe?) for each kid, get each a lanyard and let them trade for ones they like. I'd also maybe hold back a few extra so you can reward your kids for good behavior while they are there.

Have fun! It's addicting!

ok so anywhere eles other then E-bay to buy pins ?

I just found 2 pins we brought at our last trip . Forgot about them . Then I have a snowwhite one from when i brought the snowwhite movie and photo from the disney store.

Ohh and I got 4 of the battery ones as well . But i am not sure they will want to trade them....LOL

Also try www.mousepinsonline.com . I have not used them myself but I have seen it mentioned here a few times. I also recommend getting several of the same pin for kids to trade, and make sure it is something they won't like and want to keep. I just bought a bunch of the battery pins for our next trip.
