Has anyone done a DIY project framing a plain mirror? Our bathroom mirror is 90" x 39" and is starting to lose the mirror finish? on one side, maybe water? It looks bad in any case and I thought of framing it but the ones you can buy cost around $250-300. Has anyone done this? DH has a miter box but he isn't great with DIY projects.

We did this in one of our bathrooms. It turned out really nice.

We used base board (fiber board so it doesn't warp) and liquid nails glue.

We bought 4 little square blocks for the corners. I don't know the correct name for them, but they are usually sold in the same aisle with the trims and baseboard. By using them, you don't need to miter cut.

It was a pretty easy project. Oh and I painted the baseboard first.

I did just a few months ago.

It was a 1 day project of painting the bathroom and tiling the mirror. I bought the tiles that are 1 inch square and they come on a 12X12 piece of mesh. I got them from the floor tile aisle at Lowes. The lady working there had me get some type of glass glue, but that took a long time to dry. I ended up using gorrilla glue (like crazy glue or super glue) and it dried in seconds. I put the tiles two wide all the way around the mirror. It looks great!!! I just had them touch on the edges-no grouting needed. If you want to PM me your phone number I can text pic you the before and after. (I don't have those pics loaded on my computer to download them here). It was pretty easy and I am planning to do it in my main bathroom next.
