Hi Guys

This will be the first time I have used Budget for car hire.

I have pre-registered my details with budget and am aware that I can bypass the check-in desk and go straight to the kiosk to collect the keys for the car.

I have a couple of questions...

* Is the kiosk located in the parking lot !

* Are the additional drivers registered at the kiosk !

We used this service last year. The kiosk was to the right in the car park as you leave the terminal building and go across the road. We did have more paperwork to complete when we got there. Not sure what it was for TBH as DH was sorting it but it was all done there.

Done this twice. As Clare says straight out to garage kiosk, all paperwork should be done ready to sign. If additional driver is Spouse and prepaid in UK(gold cover) then they are automatically covered, don't even have to show licence.
Not sure if its not a Spouse or you want to pay to add, should be able to be done at kiosk.
Rented with Budget 4 times now, twice MCO, once TPA and once Port Canaveral. Only once at MCO got car size I should have. Other time at MCO booked intermediate with free upgrade to full size they tried giving me a compact. TPA again should have ghad free upgrade but they said none available gave me Chevy HHR, DS legs(he is 6`3") would not fit in back so went back in and they found me a full size. Last August at PC booked SUV, best they could offer was an old minivan, probably worst rental I have ever had but it was only for 3 days or I would have gone back to change somewhere in Orlando.
Hopefully you know your car sizes, with Dollar I have always been given free upgrades or got size I booked, Budget I have found try to give you smaller.

If its MCO you are flying to, you need to go up the escalator at the garage as Budget in on the 1st floor of it

Have you used them in past few weeks?
They have re-jigged all the rental lots now Hertz is back onsite, not 100% certain but I believe they were all on ground level when we were there at Easter. I remember going up escalator last May but I am sure I saw Budget on ground level this time.
I rented from Dollar and Alamo this time they were definitely both on ground level.

No did not realise that, knew Dllar where on ground level, but did not know Budget had moved.

Maybe someone will post thats used then recently to confirm. I know one was still showing up the escalator but I am thinking it was a minor company like E-Z car rental or similar. Hope someone posts, its niggling me now.:lmao:

Here's an update from Simon Veness on the recent changes:

We were able to do a full update tour of Orlando International Airport last week, and it was extremely heartening to see that the airport's big programme to overhaul the onsite car rental operation is now complete. This has taken more than a year and means that ALL the major car hire companies are now on site, with check-in desks down on Level 1. That means there is no more taking shuttle buses to off-airport rental depots, adding to the time and hassle for getting mobile when you arrive. For Alamo and Dollar, there is no real change, but the likes of Hertz, Thrifty and Enterprise are now all under the same roof, and the whole operation should be a bit easier. Each of the car hire desks has been smartened up and capacity actually increased in some cases, so this should also make getting mobile smoother in future.

Although people may never actually see them, the areas for car hire have been dramatically increased and enhanced behind each of the short-term parking garages, allowing for thousands more cars to be prepared and stock-piled on-site, thus getting the through-put more efficient and ensuring people can get out of the airport quicker, too.

Thanks guys - I will head over to the kiosk when we arrive in Orlando... tomorrow :woohoo:
