Hello All-

My son loves the decorated windows when we walk through the resorts. We are going in September, but I'd like to decorate for Halloween. Where can I get some halloween colored lights, (orange, or pumpkins, etc.) and some things to decorate? Not looking to spend over 20 dollars for the whole window.

TIA-

I've seen Party City and Walmart carry lights, I also have a set purchased from Disney.

You could also get a couple strands of halloween garland (I have a mickey set), using suction hooks to drape it across the top. On those same hooks, you could stretch some spider webbing across the window (using a couple hooks at the bottom) and use that to cling little plastic things to it, like little spiders, pumpkins, ghosts, and other little things you can find with goody bag treats. Then buy those jelly window clings that says "happy halloween". Then wrap it around with some purple lights.

Spider webbing - $1
webbing clings - $3 (for all the different ones. You can usually find things in the bulk bins or for goody bags)
Window Cling - $3 at most, I think they average in the $1-2 range
Garland - $2 if you go with a basic. But it's like $7 if you go with the Mickey one at Disney.
lights - $2 shouldn't really be any more, 100 lights should be more than adequate. Although rope lights would be too heave for suction cup hooks.
Hooks - $2-3 for a five pack.
Then just bring a timer, and maybe an extension cord (I don't know the placement of the outlets), so the lights come on at dark, and will be on when you get back to the room.

For September though, Party City might be your better bet. Halloween is their "major holiday", and carry a lot of things earlier or year round. Although I've noticed too more and more stores start the holidays earlier and earlier. I do know Party City has a section of bulk bin items of little halloween toys and such that would work well for sticking things to the spider cling.

Or you could just bring a pumpkin carving kit and design, then buy a pumpkin from Fort Wilderness. Set it on the table in front of the window, and use a little light candle that runs on batteries.

I found some cute Mickey Halloween clings at Walgreens last year. Hobby Lobby or other craft stores often have cute decor that you could get on sale or with a coupon.

Enjoy! I look forward to seeing some to get an idea for future trips! I love decorating our stateroom doors on cruises, so I'm sure this will become a tradition, too!

cute idea, I haven't been to disney in a few years, but haven't seen decorated windows! might be fun for the kids, thanks for the idea.

We went the week after Thanksgiving and I decorated our room and window for Christmas. It was so cute. I have a small tree (like 12in) that I bought small Disney ornaments for they came on candy canes from wal-mart for $2. I bought some red and gold ornaments from the Target $1 bin. I had some battery operated lights. I had a Tree skirt from $1 tree. So all my tree decorations cost was $4. I bought a Mickey head shaped out of wire with red and green lights at Wal-greens for $4.99. a string of lights from Target $2.50 they had little red Christmas stocking shaped covers on them.. I put the Mickey head in the center of the window and the lights at the bottom.( with tiny suction cups) I had a Santa door cover from the $1 tree. I taped in on the door with scotch tape (small pieces) Cost of door and window was $8.49. I bought Santa had for my husband, Santa helper hat for me and an elf hat for out son(11yrs)$3 and 3 stockings that we put on the wall with those new hooks that don't leave marks on the wall. Stockings and hats $6 We wore them to the parks at night. We put some Disney pins for their collections in the stockings. We really have fun. Total for my decorations were .....Tree-$4, Door-$8.49, hats and Stockings- $6= $18.49 I wish we were going this year to decorate. We will be going in Feb.
