We need to stay over night at the end of the mont while attending my DD's gymnastic meet. So we really don't need anything fancy just a clean place to sleep. I looked on priceline and found good prices on the days inn and econo lodge. They get mixed reviews. One site has mostly good things to say about the days inn and another completely trashes it. Can anyone reccomend either one oaf them or is there another hotel I should consider?
Thanks

I would stay out of the actual city and get a room on Front Street. There are quite a few hotels there, I drive by them every week, too bad I cannot remember the names! (Hmmm, I think there is a Comfort Inn and a Holiday Inn). There are also some places near the Mall in Johnson City (very near Binghamton). I think it's a Red Roof Inn and a La Quinta there.

I am assuming the meet is being held downtown in the Arena? Some surrounding areas you could search would be Vestal and Johnson City.

I just googled, there is a Fairfield Inn, a Howard Johnsons, Motel 6, the Binghamton Regency...Sorry, I know nothing about any of these as I have never stayed at them.

I am visiting Binghamton the same weekend and staying at the Holiday Inn Arena. They are right across the street from the Arena where the gymnastics tournament is so you can walk across and not have to worry about parking. Parking can sometimes be very difficult in Binghamton. The hotel is very nice I stayed there recently to attend a friend's wedding. The rooms have been recently renovated, and they have an indoor pool which is good for the kids. I looked up their number for you it's 607-722-1212 and they do still have some rooms available. I hope that this helps.

Early morning robbery at Super 8

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning at the Super 8 Motel at 650 Old Front St. in Dickinson.

At around 5:40 a.m., a dark-skinned man with dark pants and a skullcap struck a woman in the head, stole her wallet and fled in an unknown direction, deputies said.

Anyone with information can call sheriff’s detectives at (607) 778-2053.

Bad timing, eh? Still, living in the area, I would feel much safer on Front St than in downtown.
