Budget Hotel for 1st Night

We are looking for a nice , lower price hotel for our 1st night in O-Town. We will be staying at HRH for 5 nights, but dont get in till late the 1st night. Any suggestions near Universal would be appreciated.

Hi Lorna. I'm checking your thread regularly because we too are looking for a cheap hotel for night 1. AAA gives 3 stars to a Best Western Plaza International, about 2 miles from Universal, about $52.00/night. I keep looking for something that cheap, with a free breakfast.

I've used Priceline very successfully for late night arrivals in the MCO zone. You can use the info at www.biddingfortravel.com to give you an idea of what bids have been successful lately.

WE have been looking at Best Western Movieland, very cloise to Universal for the first night and close to places to eat to get a failry restful night.

Travelzoo keeps running the Comfort Inn Universal for $39 a nt. It's not on the site right now- but it's been on a few times in the last few weeks. Might want to keep an eye out there.

If you are an Entertainment Book owner you can try Holiday Inn Nikki Bird (About 1 mile from WDW) We are staying for $40 the first night before we checkin at SSR.

The HI Nikki Bird doesn't have a good location if you want to be near Universal. As it's right outside WDW.
Also, there are a lot nicer budget hotels. This one is really run down and is nothing like you'd expect of a Holiday Inn.
