Budget Digital camera for an 8 yr old help!

I'm hoping my fellow Budget Boarders can help me out finding a camera.
I want to get DD8 one for Christmas and am not sure where to look for the best deal or place to get it.

These are my requirements
Lithium battery
Image stabilization
not to complicated.
under 100.00 hopefully closer to 75.00.

a warranty would be nice.

If I give up the Lithium Battery I see alot in that price range But am not sure which brand is best. I have only ever has Sony for myself.

Any suggestions would be really helpful!

we just bought one from walmart in port huron, mi yesterday. it's for our 9 year old.

saw it on the walmart homepage then ran across the border to get it.

for 79.00 we got a kodak, 8,2mp , 3x optical zoom, face detection etc, two rechargble AA's, regarger, case, and a 4G SD card.

i think there was a 69.00 option but without the 4g card.

We have had good luck in the past few years for nieces and nephews in the same age range as you, at Staples. They seem to have some great deal each week with rebates and often a free printer. I have not had a chance to look on their site or ads yet, but I did get an email that they have holiday specials out on thier site. We usually buy Kodak Easyshare series. I don't think that I have spent more than $100, and often have had a coupon that brought it down more!

Black Friday always has a great deal VERY EARLY IN THE AM.

For what its worth, we're actually looking at this Flip-like Coby camcorder for ds7. I would have written it off, but tech-guru Leo Laporte actually had some good things to say about it.
