We are planning on getting a rental car in May and have a ok deal from budget, but would love a better one.

Is there a time frame for that or do you have to be a member anywhere (AAA, Sams club etc....)

It was a code I got from Costco web sit. But you dont have to be a member to use it. I am not sure how long it is good for. I believe the code is good for one day of free rental.

...If you are an Emerald member with National you can reserve (& pay for) an intermediate class car, but actually select from either an intermediate, suv or minivan? If that is true, its an awesome deal!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you would be able to choose any car that is in the Emerald Aisle, which MAY include a minivan or SUV, but not ALWAYS.

I went to the Costco website and clicked on "travel "- there you will find several car rental companies. Since I was shocked to recieve a Dodge Durando for $200 a week - I called both the #1-800 for Costco travel and also Budget (local # ) to verify.Now I WAS told that I would have to show my Costco membership upon rental ? Although it has been said on these threads that no one has been asked for it, those of you who are using the code might want to check into it ???

Sorry I wasn't clear. If you are an emerald member through National you reserve an intermediate car. When you go to pick up a car you can choose any car that is in the emerald aisle for no additional charge. Many times there are suv & minivans available, but not all the time.

If you go through the above link to join emerald, it will ask you for a credit card to be put on file, but the registration fee to be an emerald member is waived through priceless vacations. I hope this helps.

I used the code and reserved a 12 pass van for our whole family for on the way to the cruise and back and I am not a costco customer. We don't even have costco in CNY. What do you think I should do? My family is going to kill me

suzannef if you have an Entertainment book, they have coupons in there also. I used the 20% weekly rental and got the 12 passenger van for $377 total for 2 weeks, 8/2-/16.

It isn't giving me that screen... maybe because I am doing a one way drop-off? We're flying into Albuquerque, NM, driving across AZ to Disneyland, dropping the car off either at LAX or SNA, and then flying home. Maybe I will have to call them to see if I can use this code.
