I had to have my house ducts totally cleaned out today.......we had mice get into the heating system last winter and we did trap all the little cuties, but when the heating guys came to tune up ye old heater for the winter.....discovered the beauties left LOTS of gifts behind for us, so ......about 800$ dollars later, I've got sanitized duct work , and a new respect for Disney's Finest Founding Member......

I can think of a million ways I could have enjoyed the Disney version much better, but the money's all gone

BTW, I have nothing against mice, we have a pet one Maizy upstairs that I feed and give the utmost care to, it's just the uninvited guests that have left me saaddddddd:sad1:

Just needed to vent.......

Ummm....
I guess no pun intended that you needed to 'vent'. but at least now your vents are cleaned both physically (by the contractor) and emotionally (here on the boards). ;)
sorry to hear of your woes. My BFF has caught 10 of them in the last week in her basement and is having an absolute coronary over it. :lmao: I don't care for mice but I'm not afraid of them. Our backyard butts up to a multi-acre corn field so we ocassionally get them in the garage. I can tell when there's one in the trap because the dog goes nuts. LOL.
Sorry you couldn't use the funds to visit a mouse instead of cleaning up after one. :goodvibes

What is it with mice making us all broke lately? DH went to Europe for a week last month and left his car in the driveway instead of the garage. A mouse ate a hole through the air filter, buit a big nest in the a/c fan and had 5 babies. Needless to say when DH turned on the car and the a/c, the fan got stuck and there are now 5 more mice in mouse heaven. Looks like the mama was not in the mess and we are paraniod that she is going to come back and eat another hole in the filter to find them.

Cost us 2 hours of labor at the mechanic (he said it happens a lot), and $10 at Yankee Candle on 2 cans of odor eliminating spray. I can not even begin to describe the smell even with the fan turned off for the first week.

Look on the bright side.... maybe you won't have to dust as much. ;)

My old neighbors across the street used to do this every fall, her hubby had bad allergies. I cringe thinking about paying that every year. He has really bad allergies though. They went as far as taking out all carpet and putting hardwood and tile in everywhere.

Have you figured out where the little buggers got in?

We are hoping thru the garage...so we doubled up on the foam--fill calk spray stuff....We were told not to keep the trash cans in the garage, which we moved out to the side of the house(and we are causing quite the stir here on Wisteria Lane with ANYTHING out of place in plain view!!!)We live out in the country, and I expect to get them in the house......just didn't realize it would cost soooooo much.

ps. We are in a new development, and you would think the zip was 90210, the way some of the neighbors act!!!!
:rotfl:
