Well finace is getting laid off April 30, so I called and begged to work all weekend at my Per Diem job. Washing machine of course broke, repairman came out charged us too look at it and told us it could not be fixed. Got a new one, took day off last weekend to wait for delivery, had it delivered and it doesnt work. It is defective. It literally rinsed all day today. I am horrified. I put the wash in and went to class, came back it was still filling up & rinsing. I watched it to see what was going on, it literally just kept rinising/spinning over & over. My water bill is going to be awful!!! Went back to Lowes, now I need to take ANOTHER day off to have the new one delievered. This is really costing me. They only give "windows" oif delivery time. SO now my washer is costing me- repairman visit, original purchase price, huge water bill and ANOTHER day of work to wait around for delivery. I just want to cry, Lowes wasn't willing to discount at all, since it is not their fault. Whiepool was only willing to send a repairman to fix it, and I dont want to fix a brand new washer, I wanted it replaced. Let's hope the GE one is slightly better. :headache:

That is so horrible, Sorry you are dealing with all this, all of those things all at once would really push me off a cliff. I currently have a broken dryer and have been outside drying for almost a month...boo!!!:headache:

I don't know when we will get it fixed since hubby doesn't care, he always has clean clothes either way. I am the one getting it done, but don't complain much since I am not currently working.
Hope things get better for you, sorry all those things came all at once :(

How about this, you use my dryer and Ill use your washer! Together we can make a set. :goodvibes

Well, on the bright side, schedule the delivery of the new washing machine for after April 30, and you won't need to take the day off of work to wait for the delivery, DF can wait for it.

Yes, there will probably be some impact on your water bill, but I doubt that it will be as huge as you are thinking. At least least I hope so.

I feel your pain. My 2 year old Whirlpool duet quit working and the repair man charged $75 to diagnose a broken control panel and would charge $750 to repair it, which was almost as much as a new one so I said no. He first tried switching out the door lock but he said it was not the problem. So faced with getting a new washer, I bought a control panel from the local repair shop for $250 and installed it myself. It didn't fix it. So I bought a door lock for $60 and now it works perfectly

The new one is coming today! So here I sit waiting :) It is a beautiful day so I am excited to be able to at least go outdoors instead of being at work today (on the bright side!) I just couldnt wait yet another week to do laundry! lol. SO I had them come ASAP. Going to the IN Laws to do laundry is like being punished. Haha. :lmao:

Let's hope this washer lasts until the house sells! The new buyers are lucking out with a brand new washer!
