I recently bought my son the Huggies Snug & Dry diapers with Baby Mickey/Minnie designs. Boy was I disappointed! Every time he poops, it leaks. I don't know whether it's the style (this is the first time I've tried Snug & Dry) or the size (I'm using size 2; he is 15 pounds, and the weight limits on the package are 12-18 lbs.)? Anyone else have trouble with this?

If your son is 15lbs you need a larger diaper. They never fit according to the size on the package when you are at ther upper end.

I never had any trouble with Huggies, but seems like every child is different. I had to move up sizes earlier than the weight on the package because my kids were big. (Both of mine hit 15 lbs around 2 months of age.) When they started to get tight around the waist, or I started having leaks, I knew it was time to move up. Or, Huggies just might not be the right fit for your child. I didn't particularly like Pampers, but many moms swear by them.

My DD is no match for any diaper. They all leak for her, not pee but the other.:scared1:

I use Huggies for DD. I switched to size 3 once she was about 15.5 lbs. We almost never have leaks - can't think of any for the past 3 months, but I switch and generally use a bigger size than recommended - normally about 1 lb before they hit the minimum on the next size up (so if size 3 is 16 lbs - 28 lbs, I start with size 3 around 15 lbs), if that makes sense?

Ditto this. My son was always in a size above what he needed (found out quickly while he was a baby that even though the pacakge included his weight, he still peed through or poope through diapers).

So, try the next size up for now...if that doesn't work, try a different brand of diaper.

Huggies has been the best brand for all 6 of my kids. Every other brand leaked or caused rashes. For DS2 Pampers was ok until they switched to DryMax and it gave him a horrible rash.

I think all diapers fit kids differently depending on the shape of their body/bum. My daughter is long and skinny, and Pampers Baby Dry fit her great. The only leaks we've ever had occurred when we were using Huggies Snug & Dry, which don't fit her body nearly as well.

Just as a FYI, Huggies markets 3 different types of diapers - Snug & Dry (basic), Little Snugglers (premium), and Little Movers (premium). In my experience, the "premium" varieties have better elastic around the leg holes.

Huggies was the best for my triplets and I agree with some that said that maybe you need a bigger size. I too use to switch to the a higher size when the girls got closer to the limit

Huggies Snug & Dry were the only variety out of all the regular brand diapers that we didn't like for DD. The Little Snugglers/Little Movers were fine, but the Snug & Dry didn't seem to fit her right.

ITA with others, different diapers work for different kids. We liked Huggies best when DD was smallest (in NB & Sz 1), after that we preferred other brands.

That's what I was thinking.

Thanks, those were my thoughts as well.

Sorry to hear that the Huggies did not work for you. But my DD(1) is currently using the ones w/ the Mickey & Minnie designs too and I have not had any problems.:thumbsup2 Now I only buy Huggies or any other name brand unless I have a coupon other than that I usually buy the Walmart brand and they have never I mean NEVER leaked. The Target brand in the yellow package are great too. BTW DD where the size 4's. :flower3:

I guess my son is the rarity on this thread because he was in 2's 'til he was over 19lbs. I know they say 18 but he has a narrow waist and they fit, so I used them until we were out.

He's a big guy, 21lbs now at just over 5 months.

Like others have said, some diapers are better for some kids. Sorry you found out the icky way.

When that happened to me I wrote a letter to Huggies, went up a size and then donated the unused diapers to the food pantry.

Huggies sent me $$$ coupons (about double what I spent)

I've thought about doing this. I have someone I can pass the unused diapers onto. Did you write a physical letter, or did you send an email to their Customer Service. Their facebook page was mostly just posts by other people who had won something and were singing their praises. I'd really just like the opportunity to trade in the unopened package for a different style of Huggies (and more coupon $$ would be awesome for that), but with stores being so picky, I'm not sure if I'd be allowed. (I had to buy multiple packs in order to get a discount or gift card offer; if I took it back, they'd give me less than what I paid, even though I still have the gift card; some stores carry a specific size/UPC that is unique, so no trading in at other places, etc.)

This was odd, too, because I'm super cheap and almost always buy store brand. However, when I have used name brand diapers in the past, I've always loved them (just not the extra cost). That particular day, with the gift card offer and Huggies coupons, I discovered that the Huggies were only going to cost about 2 cents per diaper more than generic, so I took the plunge. Thought I'd made a wise decision. But in retrospect, I wish I'd saved the extra $$ because I've spent even MORE in laundry costs.

Oh well, live & learn....wait - that's another diaper company's motto!

I sent them an email on the website when I had a problem. I have been nursing my baby and before she started solids, I wasn't able to find a brand that didn't leak. For the most part I like Huggies because of the strechy band in the back that makes them fit tighter to her back. I got one box that seemed to leak worse than the rest and the tabs tore off several so I complained. They sent me a coupon for a free box, and coupons for any Huggies product. Good luck!

My boy's could never wear Huggies without them leaking pee. Luv's and Pamper's I never had a problem with.
