My brother is turning 40 this month and his wife is having a 'surprise' (he may already know about it) birthday party for him.
We're not big gift people - he and I haven't exchanged gifts since we were in our early teens (nieces/ nephews get gifts in our family). So really I have zero clue what to give him and honestly I'm not all that motivated since he didn't even call me when I turned 40 and something big is just not in the budget. But we should bring something. His wife suggests a technical gift (he's a computer geek/ tech toy person) or a GC to buy.com
I'd rather do a cheaper gift basket with stuff he or they would like/ enjoy. The whole turning 40 thing isn't a big thing in our family so I'd like to give him and his wife and kids something they'd all enjoy rather than something 'just for him'. Is that mean?
Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
