Cast: DH & I who haven't been to WDW since we were teens w/parents & DS is 2 yo.
I've been planning since last July, DH just follows along and DS doesn't know what he's in for!
Day 7 Wednesday June 5 - MGM & MK and my Birthday!
Today is the sleep-in day. No wake-up call! But, what is that I hear? Oh... that's DS crying at 8:00am
So much for sleeping in! We let DH sleep & go to the lounge for breakfast. We bring DH orange juice and a bowl of cereal back, but I forget the spoon, this will end up haunting me! We get to MGM about 10:30am, and it is packed & HOT! DH says he wants breakfast! We find a shop & he eats a cinnamon roll, while I grab FP for RnR. We get to Playhouse at 10:55, the 11:00 show is full (we will hear this again, soon!). So we go to Muppets. This was fun, but DS wouldn't wear the glasses. We race back to PH, arrive 11:45 & the 12:00 show is full! We decide to eat lunch at ABC Commissary & we are back at PH about 12:25. I leave DH & DS there in line & go to RnR. FP line is backed up, they are 'clearing up a problem' but it isn't broken down. CM says they will honor the FP all day, OK. I'll be back! I get a frozen lemonade (10m wait) and grab FP for LM, but return time is 2:45, I doubt we will still be here. Then I make it back to PH. Whew, we make it in for the 1:00 show. Did I mention it was really HOT during all this criss crossing?! The show was really great! DS really loves Bear & Stanley. I head back to RnR & leave DH & DS in the shade somewhere. It is my birthday & I am going to ride something that I want to ride! I am so glad I did it! It was awesome! The preshow & the ride were great. So, to sum up, between 10:30 & 2:00 we saw Muppets, Playhouse & I rode RnR. Not too efficient today!! I really like MGM and wanted to get back here again, but it just didn't happen. I would have liked to try TT and LM, but it was just so HOT! We get back a little after 2:00 and we are beat! There is a birthday cake & balloons in the room for me. Yippee!
We rest and swim a bit and rest. About 5:30 we go to Kona Cafe for dinner. No PS, no problem. Dinner was wonderful, DS is getting awful crabby though! Then we get on the monorail for MK. I wanted to see the FW in the park, but as it turned out, maybe not the best idea.
DS falls asleep on the monorail, duh! We go to Pooh, no FP left, Peter Pan, no FP left. Bummer! Then I do some shopping. We decide after an hour, we should wake DS or he won't sleep tonight. So we go to Small World and he wakes up for this! He loves this ride. Then we ride teacups, 15min wait. I wait in line for a coke for 15min! Now it's time to find a spot for FW. We go in front of Crystal Palace. The castle is beautiful! Then we see Tinkerbell fly over. And the fireworks are so wonderful. DS loves them too. But then he asks, 'animals on the water?' Uhh, no animals tonight honey. We went through this about 10 times before he moved on to something else. We wait for the crowd to thin out, only to find a mob at the monorail, so we get in line at the ferry. We wait 15min, and don't get on the boat. Another 10min & we are off across the lagoon and in the room about 10:00pm.
All in all this day felt like we got nothing accomplished. It was HOT and we were just waiting and walking around all day, and barely did anything. I was pretty sad about it. But, tomorrow is another day! AK and MK again (with better luck!)
