I am going to London in Sept and am trying to buy tickets for Buckingham Palace. I was wondering if anyone knows what is included in the tickets? Is it just to go into the state rooms or also the gardens?

The ticket price includes the gardens. At the end of the tour you come out into the gardens where there is a temporary tea shop on the terrace. You then walk out past a gift shop and through a side gate in the wall to exit. I took my mum and dad for their wedding anniversary two years ago, it was a lovely day, hope you enjoy it.

You do go in the garden but I don't think you get to see much. The ticket also includes some other bits which we didn't go to, I think a gallery and something else.

i've checked the website and it says:

This ticket gives admission to three sites: The State Rooms, the Royal Mews and The Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace.

I did see this but to me none of that clarifies gardens as I have never been to England before lol. Ok we aren't planning on spending too long at Buckingham maybe a couple of hours but I would love to see the gardens so that helps if you exit there. I just wanted to make sure before I order the tickets.

Yeah we loved the Royal Mews they were pretty cool. I have done Buck Palace twice now and would go back every year because the exhibitions are always different each year. It's worth the visit and the price tag IMHO

I bought a Buckingham Palace only ticket and spent nearly 3 hours there listening to the audio tour, having tea and cake afterwards (pricey but not exceptionally so for a London attraction). It could be done in just over an hour if you are in a hurry.

The gardens are not really part of the tour. As you exit (and where you have tea) there is a landscaped lawned area and a large pond. It is pretty but you are not really touring the garden. It's just a way to get you out of the back gate (and worth checking a map as you exit as I was totally disorientated by not entering and leaving on the same street.)

ETA If you look at the Googlemaps satellite picture you can see the large lawn behind Buckingham Palace. This is near where you exit from the Palace tour. You can then choose to stay for tea if you want to, take photos (none allowed indoors) or go to the toilet (none indoors for public use). You then flollow the path - downwards on the map and then left through the trees until you get to the exit which comes out nearly opposite the Embassy of the Irish Republic. If you go to street view at this point you can see the hole in the wall where people are coming out.
