Anyone ever eat at Bubba Gump at City Walk? What was your opinion of it?

:thumbsup2 I'm going to copy my review of it over here:

After some wonderful fun filled days at Disney we headed over to Universal. For lunch we had decided on eating at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. We love the one in Chicago and were excited to hear that they had opened one in Orlando. Our waiter had actually transferred down from the Chicago location. We actually got the trivia right this time, though it was pretty simple, we were prepared for harder questions.

I ordered what I normally get: a cheeseburger. You are probably scratching your head right now. We are eating at a shrimp restaurant and I order a cheeseburger. Well, I don't like shrimp. My sister loves it, but I hate it. We go because she likes it. If we go to someplace she likes, then I can use it as leverage to go somewhere I like! ;)

Anyways, here is my cheeseburger and fries:

Good as usual. I like how they give you the 1,000 Island dressing. Yum! The fries and coleslaw were good also.

My sister ordered fried shrimp:

She said that they were very good and I'll take her word for it. :)

Here is some more about it from my dining review:
I really enjoy Bubba Gump's for a theme restaurant. To me, the Hard Rock and Rainforest Cafe are very overpriced for what you get. I also like the atmosphere of Bubba Gump's vs. Hard Rock, etc. Each time that we've gone it has been a pleasant experience. I like that the Orlando one has some large windows that they can open up to allow a nice breeze through. The food is excellent. I can't speak for the shrimp since I don't like shrimp, but the fries, coleslaw, and cheesburgers are very good. I've always gotten my cheesburger cooked just the way I like it. I don't like my food mooing at me or to be over-cooked. Each time we've gone my sister has ordered different shrimp and enjoyed it. I will have to find the picture at home of her shrimp from Chicago because it was a platter of 3 different kinds of shrimp, each with its own sauce. It also came with coleslaw, fries, and hushpuppies that have shrimp in them. It was a bit pricey and I told her if she ordered it, I wasn't going to help her eat it, but she managed to eat most of it on her own. Bubba Gump's though is our favorite restaurant in Chicago and we make sure we stop whenever we're there. I was very pleased with the one in Orlando. :) If you are going to Universal, check it out. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is fun.
We really liked it. :)

you can't make priority seatings, but Lt. Dan's Drunken Shrimp is a great meal.

We visited City Walk for the first time this week and ate at Bubba Gumps for dinner. We enjoyed our meal there and the Bubba Gump theme. DS has never seen the movie and enjoyed watching the film on the TV. For our food - I had the clam chowder (very tender clams!) and caesar side salad. DH has some type of shrimp dish that came in a pot with a side of rice and bread for dipping, He really enjoyed this dish. DS had the macaroni kids menu. It came with raw carrots & celery with ranch dip. DS chose the fruit instead of fries - and he was given a choice of apples or oranges. he chose the oranges - and they were fresh! It also came with chocolate pudding worms/dirt dessert. A great kids meal. DH and I shared the chocolate chip cookie/ice cream dessert - very large! We all gave this restaurant a :thumbsup2

I've been to the ones in New Orleans, Charleston SC and Daytona Beach. They were all very good.

OT -does the City Walk one give an annual pass discount??

:thumbsup2 I haven't been to the City Walk location, but definitely recommend the restaurant. I've been to 2 Bubba Gumps in Hawaii and they are fun theme restaurants with good food. Forrest Gump is one of my all time favorite movies and I found the ambience made me feel like I was in the movie. Gotta love the license plates with Run Forrest Run and Stop Forrest Stop. Your server also quizzes you with movie facts.

Food: Their coconut shrimp w/plum sauce is the best seafood I have ever had.

My folks just got back from Charleston NC and were raving about Bubba Gump's! Didn't know there was one at Citywalk. What restaurant did it replace? Where's it located?

it replaced the old Motown Cafe'. it's across from the movie theaters as you enter Citywalk.

I eat at Bubba Gumps from time to time and I love their food. The service is great, the price is great, and their food is excellent. I always get the BUCKET OF BOAT TRASH and the Alabama milkshake...yummy!

Bucket of Boat Trash...yum!!! It's little mini lobster tails, fish (mahi-mahi), and shrimp...all are batter, fried, and servied in a bucket over a healthy portion of french fries, with cole slaw on the side.

Their coconut shrimp is delicious, too, and if you're not a fish person, give their pulled pork sandwich a try. No fat whatsoever, and delicious barbeque sauce.

Loves it!!

The hush puppies with corn inside, or whatever, are sooooo good!!!!!

They have shrimp in them! OMG, they are soooooooooooooo good.

We ate there while staying at the Portofino Bay, I thought it was pretty good. DH had the platter, may be the boat trash, can't remember. I had the drunken shrimp, found it to be really good. Kids had shrimp and fish, but those hushpuppies are so different!

There is also one at the Mall of America that we eat at fairly often. The hush pups really are awesome - but there aren't too many in an order so if you have more than a couple people, get 2 orders. My husband and I scramble for the last ones.

I also love the fried fish sandwich (comes with a great remoulade) and my husband always gets the southern fried chicken platter.

I was a little dissapointed in the shrimp...very small and not too good. Everything else was great especially the drinks.

Anyone remember what the prices at the citywalk location are?
Cheeseburger?
Fried Shrimp?
Boat Trash?
Thanks.

I want to say that the Cheeseburger was between $9-12. I can't remember exactly. I think the fried shrimp is about $13-16.

I've been to the one in New Orleans 3 times, and had the Bucket of Boat Trash as a meal each time! Yum!!!!!!! I believe if you go to their web site (you can just Google Bubba Gump) their menus are posted there.

:thumbsup2we have been to the Bubba Gumps in Maui and Charleston and had a blast at both. One time we had a trivia contest with the waiter about the movie. He said if I won, I would get a free desert,....well....I lost, but he still gave a free desert. It is a fun meal, and the food is very good. Sorry, but I don't remember the prices, but I don't think it was too expensive, probably on line with Margaritaville prices. Enjoy
