I might be making my first trip to Florida in September and would be staying at Bryans Spanish cove and wanted to get some opinions from those who know something about it.

Are there any restaurants or bars nearby you would recommend?

Is there a decent beach there to get some sun?

Would you be able to recommend a fishing charter company if I wanted to try fishing on the ocean?

We would spend a few days at the parks of course but I want a couple days to do nothing but spend some relaxing time outdoors.

Any tips for a first timer?

Thanks

We stayed at Bryan's Spanish Cove in Oct/05. It is nice enough, but not my favourite. The resort is very small, and there are several restaurants nearby. It is within a couple of miles down the SR 535 to the main entrance for Downtown Disney. It is directly across the street from Sheratons's Vistana Resort, and beside Embassy Grand Beach Resort. I would choose either of those resorts before going back to BSC. The rooms were clean and well appointed but I like larger resorts (with an onsite convenience store, for example and a game's room for the kids). Unless you were planning on sitting by the (basic) pool or fishing off the dock, not sure you could find enough to occupy you for 2-3 non-park days just at the resort itself.

We didn't fish or rent any boats so I can't help you there.
