Just came home, and there is a huge brush fire on 192 near 429 (fairly close to the Animal Kingdom Area). 192 is closed down in both directions near Orange Lake until it is put out. It's been burning for a few hours already, so hopefully it will be under control soon. It's very very smoky in the area.

I made a delivery to All Stars. The smoke was pretty thick there. As I sat at a light by Blizzard Beach, little pieces of ash were falling on my car. By the time I got to DTD, it was a little hazy, but I couldn't really smell the smoke.

Gosh, we could really use a tropical depression about now! Steady rain for a couple of days would reduce the brush fire risk dramatically.

Wish we could send some of rain from here in Massachusetts down your way! We've been getting record amounts for May & June - especially the Boston area. I think they've gotten over 20" over the past 6 weeks. We've had 5-10" here in Western Mass and it just keeps on showering! Hope the brush fires are out soon. We were down there in early May and could smell the smoke from the fire over by SeaWorld.

My DH can't get home. They were traveling on 192 west and as they drove past Orange Lake they could see the flames, they were sent on highway 429. DH said it's pretty bad. They're going to take backroads home now.

It was going this afternoon at 3:45 when we left the house and on our way back at around 7 it was pretty bad but DH said it's real bad now.

Thanks for the info...we are staying at the Beach Club and got some good pictures of the fire from the Boardwalk. We could really smell it near MGM!

I too wish we could send some of the rain down. We have gotten over 20" up here. And more on the way. Good luck everyone :goodvibes

Whoa we can see the fire from our apartment balcony. We see an orange glow and then it'll flare up and we'll actually see flames.

We could really send our rain down that way, its a down pour here, we are sick of rain. Keep us updated on the fire, for those that are able to catch the news, thanks in advance,

I too would be happy to send all the rain down there. 20 inches in my town in just under a month and another 2 expected tonight. Possibility for some rain from some tropical disturbance next week too. My town has millions of dollars in road and bridge repairs from flooding in its future if the rain ever ends. I hope you all get some rain soon (but not like what we've had)

Wow, I wish I could send some rain but we haven`t had much either. All of you in Florida, please stay safe and keep us posted! I

Here's a little update. Today, I can't see the big plume of smoke from my home like I could yesterday. It is, however, very hazy and it smells very strong of smoke. I am 5 minutes north of MK.

It was still burning this morning when my husband came home from work around 7:30 am. I don't know if 192 was still closed then because he took a back road that went behind the fire, but he could still see it burning then.

A friend of mine called from the cast lot at Epcot this morning and said it was really smoky there, and hard to breathe for him (he has asthma). It isn't too smoky here (west on 192 from where the fire was), but the wind isn't blowing in this direction.

It's still burning and 192 is still closed.

Here are two pics from yesterday before they closed 192, we drove past it about 7pm on our way home.

Here are some pics I just took, that's 192 where they have closed the road-

Orange Lake is just up 192 from there they've got to be engulfed in smoke.

We were at Epcot and Grand FL today. We went in the back way and the closer we got to the MK the more we could smell and see smoke.
I am one who would look forward to seeing a Tropical Depression come through. Better heavy rain we desperately need than FIRE!

I know bring on the rain, hurry up tropical depression. There saying we could get rain as early as tomorrow, 50% chance tomorrow.

Amen, sister!

We had to leave the AK early today because the smoke was just killing us.

192 is still closed so we went the back way (Funie Steed) and the fire is right up to the road across from Emerald Island/Sunset Lakes. The smoke is no longer black like it was yesterday but it's still really bad.
