If you make them you want to keep them hot/warm for serving. The sugar will solidify when they cool and you lose the syrup you want. The good news is that they get eaten so fast you usually don't have to worry about it!
Also, I really recommend that you use a disposable pan, like a foil pan from the grocery store! The sugar is a little bit of a pain to clean. A lot of hot water and it comes off but if you hate doing dishes like I do a disposable pan is wonderful!
