Help!

How can I keep my new bag of brown sugar from turning into a bag of cement? I've never had a bag of brown sugar that hasn't become a rock. How should it be stored?

I keep it in a zip lock bag and store in the freezer.

I always throw a peice of bread in when my Brown sugar starts to go hard. It sounds funny but it works. I also know that in the kitchen department in stores, they carry a round ceramic disk that does the trick too.

If it DOES turn into a rock, you can seal a wedge of apple in with the brown sugar for a few days to soften it. I've also heard that you can gently microwave hardened brown sugar, but you'd have to be careful not to melt it!

Both the bread and the apple have worked for me. I keep mine in a sealed container in the fridge, and usually throw a slice of bread in, before it gets hard.

I keep mine in Tupperware :thumbsup2 lakeland Ltd used to do a teracotta bear to sit in with the sugar for this purpose
