We all got up around 5am. DS and I don't feel too good. Just scratchy throats, coughing. It is cold out, but nice. We were ready to go by 7am and walked down to the food court. I have to say that up on the fourth floor at Pop is REALLY quiet! Anyway, DH got a western omelet, I got corn flakes, and DS got 2 mini Mickey waffles with sausage. We also got grapes, orange jusice, and cranberry juice and a milk for $16 with our D. D.E. We shopped a little and I got DS some chewable Tylenol cold and cough to take with us.

Headed out to the buses at 8am. Our bus was there in less than 10 minutes and we were off to the MK!!!!! We got to the MK and stood in front of an empty turnstile. The middle lines were pretty long. A Cm told us that they were going to let those people in at 8:30 to a roped off area to watch the opening show. We were fine where we were. We were first , so no one was blocking our view. We had a really nice chat with the CM while we were waiting. The show was cute as always. We could already tell that the day would not be crowded by the amount of people there. At 9 we went in and I rented a stroller and met DH and DS inside. We strolled up Main Street and headed to Tomorrowland. First up was Buzz- no waits -most rides were walks-ons or a five minute wait. The race cars had no wait- now you know the place was empty!!! Dh and Ds went on. Anyone believe in fate or whatever? This is weird. I tried to get a picture of them and couldn't get the camera to stay on- well, we don't have one picture from our trip because we didn't bother to take any more!! Things get more and more "interesting". Pooh was not running yet, so we went over to Peter Pan, then Haunted Mansion. We went on Thunder next and it broke down on the second hill. We had to be walked off. I hid my eyes so as not to spoil the magic. Walking through the tunnels, some broke into a round of "hi ho, hi ho" kind of funny, really....

At least we got passes to walk right back on....

We headed for Spalsh and donned our ponchis since it was cold out. Then we went back to ride Thunder without a hitch!

Hunger was setting in, so we decided to try Columbia Harbor House for the first time. I found a quiet room off to the side for us to sit. We got the chicken and fish strip platter and the clam chowder-but no bread bowl? what was up??? Anyway, the food was good and DS loved the fish of all things!!!

After lunch we rode Pirates and stopped a the Candy store on our way out of the MK....

Took the monorail to Epcot, which took no time at all. We waited for the second monorail (from the TTC) for about 10 minutes, but when we got on, it took like five minutes to get to Epcot. Just as we arrived, it began to rain. Not hard, just drizzly and constant. This is where things start to go a little down hill.....

We put on our ponchos, got a stroller . The CM just waived us over to the strollers-"just take one", so we grabbed a double that was sitting there. I guess the place was so empty, that they weren't even checking the receipts. It was nice, because DS could fit nicely with our jackets tucked next to him.

Walked on to Spaceship Earth and Figment. Ds wanted to go to the "countries". This was the first time today that he actually "perked up" a little . We visited the kidcot stations in Mexcio, Norway, China, Germany. Now, we had a PS for Biergarten at 5:30, but it was only 3:00. I tried to see of we could get in early. No problem!!!! The place was half empty, but DS was really coughing hard and wanted to leave. We stopped at one more kidcot (Italy) and then headed out-which when you are over there is a 30 minutes walk to the gate (in the rain remember)...

We waited less than 10 min for a bus to Pop and were home in a flash.
*****DISNEY MAGICAL MOMENT: when we got back to our room there was a card and pciture signed by Mickey and Minnie and balloons for our anniversary!!! It was so sweet. My mom faxed my room request, so she is the one who wrote that we were celebrating our anniversary! What a nice surprise!**********

We gave DS a warm shower and out on his pj's.It was about 4pm and we ended up staying in the room the rest of the night. DH had to brave the much harder now rain to get us food . This is where POP lost much of it's appeal with us. How we longed to be back at the WL, where we could have all walked down to Roaring Forks or Whispering canyon (yum). I wasn't going to let Ds out in any more rain. We ate our dinner in the room. I had the shrimp lo mein. It was very good, but enough for two people!!!!! DS had more pizza, and DH had the parmesean chicken. Oh, yes we also had our second Tiramisu Twinkie (yum) .

We all lay in our beds and watched our Freaky Friday DVD (I love this portable DVD player. You can hook it up to the tv and everything).

Fast forward to 4am..... I wake up and reach over and touch my DS. He is BURNING UP!!!! I quickly get a washcloth and start wiping him down. When he wakes, I give him Tylenol and keep wiping him down. He starts coughing and throws/spits up some phelgm . Yes, on the new PC carpet. He and Dh go back to sleep for a long time. I can't sleep. I quickly pack up and take my shower. When they wake up, DS spits up on the bed-lovely.

He then proceeds to have a little diarreah in his underwear (aren't you glad you read this report?) and I get him to the bathroom. All I am thinking is....how are we going to make it three hours in the car???

Well, we made it. Ds did throw up in the car, but was quiet most of teh way home. He was really sick! Monday, we went to the doctor. He has a stomach flu and bronchitis.

Today is Thursday. The fever broke yesterday , but the cough is horrible. He is on amoxcil right now.

This was our worst trip and I have no intention of leaving home for quite a while!

Oh that is terrible
I am sorry your son got sick.
I have been there, it is a big bummer

Glad his fever finally broke!!!

Sorry your DS got sick..3 hours in a car with a sick child is bad, but aren't you glad you didn't have to travel half-way across the country.

My grand-daughter got sick in Disney (1/27) ... was fine in the morning ... we had a 9:50 CRT seating and just a couple of minutes after we were seated she started to complain that her tummy hurt. First it was b/c she was hungry, then she felt sick.

Before I could stand up to take her to the bathroom she vomited all over the carpet YUCK!!! She ended up vomiting every 30-60 minutes for the next 12 hours.

The people at CRT were great ... I took Cissy and left, but DH and DGS stayed to eat and collect autographs. Even though my food had been served while I was in the restroom cleaning up Cissy they didn't charge me for my meal. DH who's a tightwad left the waiter a 50% tip for being so gracious about dealing with a sick kid.

Luckily for us Cissy recovered before we had to fly home ... I was worried that we'd have to take a sick child on the plane ... double yuck.
