Yesterday Disney called and said that our late flight had been cancelled. So we are now booked two hours earlier. :sad2: With that, we end up having to eat our last dinner around 2. So we can just grab a CS meal with our DDP, and have an extra TS meal left over. We have ADR's for Sci- Fi, but we are considering going to Brown Derby since we will have the extra meal left. I am wondering though how the Brown Derby would be with kids 6, 5, and 19 months. We also considered using the extra TS for breakfast on our last day. Any good recommendations for breakfast at MK would be appreciated too. Thanks :sunny:

The Brown Derby has great food, and is fine for kids, in my experience. Sci-Fi is fun, but if you want to have a really nice last meal, you may want to switch to the Brown Derby. They have a kids menu, crayons, etc. and when we took our kids, the server was very good with them. Also, 2:00 in the afternoon might be a nice time to go, as it might be a bit slower than at the "regular" meal times.

The Brown Derby is great, but it is themed for adults. To your kids it will just be a restaurant. They will probably have more fun with the theming of Sci Fi. It is kind of dark and they show monster movies though. Would your little kids get scared?

I personally prefer Sci Fi and it's nice and loud in there for the kids. We ate at the Brown Derby in Nov 04 and the food was horrible. It might have been an off day, but it really didn't make us want to go back.

cant speak for the brown derby but the kids should like sci-fi it is almost like a ride except for the fact you dont go no where and you get fed :lmao:. the movie loop is not scary really, it is stuff like the amazing colassal man, the incredible shrinking man, the blob, etc. all that 60's cheese. :scared1:

We recently had a burger/fries/milkshake lunch at Sci-Fi which was really yummy. And it is SO quiet in there, since everyone is watching the movies (our DD8 thought they were hilarious).

We also had an incredible dinner at Brown Derby. Delicious, fancy, no hamburgers.

The food the two places offer is so different, I would go with what you think you'd want to eat for that meal.

We are thinking about the Sci-Fi for lunch also. They kids would probably like it better than the 50's, or at least that is what we are hoping. The menu seems geared towards stuff they would like also.

Also remember that Brown Derby is 2 TS......

We ate at Brown Derby with our DD6 last year, as part of the Fantasmic package. They were very nice to her, and gave her a coloring page featuring her favorite, Lizzie McGuire. The food was excellent but very expensive. (We were on the dining plan, but paid out of pocket for the Fantasmic package.)

We haven't eaten at Sci-Fi yet, but plan on doing it this year.

For a TS breakfast in the MK area you might want to try Ohanas. They do a good character breakfast with Lilo and Stitch that is popular with the kids. That's what we have scheduled for our last day, as a kind of send off from Disney.
