I'd say the food is better at Brown Derby. But it's also much more expensive.

Everybody raves about Brown Derby but to be honest, after reviewing the menu for Mama Melrose we opted for that restaurant. Then again we are quite picky eaters who prefer simpler foods.

We love Brown Derby, we did the fantasmic package last year and really enjoyed it...even our daughter who is very picky enjoyed her meal. For us it was one of the better meals we had during our trip.

Depends, are you a foodie?
Putting aside price, do you prefer upscale dining, or Olive Garden quality Italian?

We have done the Fantasmic package at Brown Derby twice, and found the food to be exceptional.

On the other hand, Mama Melrose will give you a much more run-of-the-mill menu and quality. But it will also be much cheaper than Brown Derby.

We did Mama Melrose last time and had a great experience. In fact it was a hidden gem for us this time around. You have more of a prixe fare menu with the Fantasmic Package, so you can all order different appetizers and share easily. Don't forget to order the Kids Spaghetti Ice Cream for dessert!

Brown Derby is my favorite! We used to eat there when my brother was little/a picky eater and he would just get a hot dog. It worked out for everybody.

I think Mama Melrose's is a better deal? I'm not sure, but it's at least cheaper. You can't wrong either way! I prefer the food options at Mama Melrose's. We ate at Brown Derby two nights in a row during our last trip though, because DH tried my salad the first time and wanted to come back the next night to order it. Just make sure you get to the Fantasmic area when they tell you to, or you'll lose the spot like we did one year.
