i really want to try the grapefruit cake at BD. is there any way that you could get it carry out? i feel lik ethe answer will be no but just though i would ask.

There have been posts here where people have insisted they were able to get the grapefruit cake as takeout, but I think it really depends on how busy the restaurant is at the time and how accommodating the CM at the front desk is.
It certainly couldn't hurt to stop in and ask, and if they can't do it one time, try again at a different time. You never know!

I was able to obtain a piece in March when I was down there. I asked the CM at the door - she checked with her Manager who said OK - and it took forever. They also placed a tip on the check. The cake is delicious! I have tried making it - but it is so much better at Disney.

I made reservations for just dessert on my Bday last March. We had an early ressie at 11:45am, I called it my "bday cake". We went in, sat down and ordered it. The waiter was so wonderful, made a big deal out of the fact this was my "cake", even gave me a bday card with signatures from the wait staff. Then gave me a free dessert for my bday!! LOL
I can't say enough on how this "high end" place went out of their way just so I could experience this slice of cake on my bday!
I say take the 1/2 hour and make a ressie and enjoy!!!

thanks so much for the info. i would have never thought about going to starring roles for the BD grapefruit cake. if all else fails,i can always plan on eating there on a future trip
