We've been to Mama Melrose (although DH has no recollection!) but never been to Brown Derby. We want to do the Fantasmic dinner package. Is this worth it? How do they do the fixed price menus? We will be traveling with 4 adults and 2 kids (4 & 6 years old).

Thanks!

We love the Brown Derby and I am not a fan of MM so BD would be my pic!

I think Mama Melrose is a better environment for younger kids. . . plus, I love MM and don't really care for Brown Derby :)

Have been to both. Brown Derby was more upscale food and quite delicious. More difficult to get a ressie there. Very pretty 'old Hollywood movie star' style setting.

Mama Melrose was a good meal, probably more kid friendly. Not a fancy setting.

Enjoyed them both. Would go back to both So take a look at their menus before making ressie and decide the experience you want.

We've been to both--Brown Derby once and Mama Melrose three times. We did not care that much for Brown Derby (we went at lunch time). We had bad service, food was mediocre at best and my DH hated the grapefruit cake (left an aftertaste for hours). We enjoy Mama Melrose--it is not gourmet, but we've always had good service and good food.

We went to the BD for lunch once, and it started DH's lifelong passion for cobb salad (which originated at the real BD). I thought their famous grapefruit cake was not all it was cracked up to be, but I still liked that restaurant.
