Heya-
I'm in a situation and hoping someone can help! I have a food allergy and have a reservation for the Dining with an Imagineer lunch at the Brown Derby on 10/25. Normally, what I do is inform the chef when I get there, and they go through the menu with me and let me know what I can and cannot have, and it works fine; however, the lunch is a set menu and I want to make sure that either I can eat there, or eat before/after (I don't mind paying the $$ for the experience instead of the food)... :)

I've been trying to contact Disney about it via email and through the Dining phone line, but that hasn't worked out too well- so far emails have been unanswered, and with calling I've gotten:
a. What are you talking about? We don't have a menu for that?
b. We have your reservation but they don't do the menu until the day of.
c. You just order off the regular menu
d. I'm sorry, you have to contact Special Diets at their email

:confused3

and then today before the reservation system went down I called and the CM suggested calling the Brown Derby directly. So, anyone out there know the number?

:hippie:

Having done the experience before- while there is a set menu they allowed a child who was with a group to order something they would like more from the children's menu- even with the set menu you have 2-3 choices for each course. They do not make the food before you arrive and have it ready to serve so they should have no trouble making subsititutions to accomidate your diet as long as it is not so extreme they would have to order different foods then the regularly serve altogether. If you can normally eat things but the chef has to specailly prepare them- or let you know what doesn't contain allegens then you shouldn't have any problem with the meal.

I had severe allergies early in m,y life that I have since outgrown but it does make me sensetive to some things so I always order food with some things not on it and sauces on the sides and that wasn't as problem during this meal.

Thanks- that's relieving the worries a bunch! When did you have the experience, and if you wouldn't mind, could share or PM me what you remember of the choices?
