Hi. We were considering making an ADR for the Brown Derby for lunch in mid August 2008. There are 6 of us, 4 adults, 1 girl 12 and 1 girl 5. My thought was to get us a mid day break out of the sun and in the air conditioning as well as a nice meal. But, I am not sure everyone will be happy with the menu. I think DD5 will be ok with the kid's choices, but not sure about the 12 yo - who will be ordering off the adult menu I suppose. A few questions, does anyone have experience with the pre-teen set and the menu here. Also, would I be better off doing this as a dinner, then going to Fantasmic, which is at 9 that day (and not doing it as a FDP, which I think would be too early for us) and try to get more shows or attractions done throughout the day.

I can tell you that my family loves the Brown Derby! First time there DD was 13 and wasn't very hungry so she ordered the kids chicken. This last trip she was 14, ordered the roasted chicken off the adult menu but they had run out  Our waitress was fantastic and recommended the Hatfield pork chop (promised if she didn't like it, they'd find something else for her) OMG, it was the most incredible meal ever! She is still raving about it and can't wait to go back. My DS10 thinks they have the best hot dog on the kids menu.

I love lunch at Brown Derby b/c you can get the chopped salad as an entree. It's so good and pretty filling. Plus it's not heavy so you can enjoy the rest of your day without filling overly full.

If I could have only one restaurant meal on a given Walt Disney World vacation, it would be that Cobb Salad!

We are planning to make a lunch ADR at the Brown Derby for our September trip. It is good to hear positive remarks about the food! Does anybody know if the Cobb Salad can be prepared without the egg? For dessert, I am looking forward to that grapefruit cake!

While I enjoyed the Cobb Salad and the Grapefruit Cake, I fell in love with the warm rolls they served there. I would be happy just to go back and fill up on those!

I must admit, the Cobb salad is what grabbed my eye when I was looking at the lunch menu.

I had the Cobb salad as a teen in high school. I seriously went home craving that salad. I ordered Cobb salads elsewhere and it never compared. My friends thought I was crazy ordering salad. I swear it is the best. I still get it every time many years later.
