The Hollywood Brown Derby is a favorite of DH and I and we have never had a bad dining experience there. We love the Cobb salad! The food and the service have always been wonderful! We are looking forward to our reservation there in December. Twice we have had "Lunch with an Imagineer" and had a truly memorable experience both times. :)

I rate it above average in both food and decor etc. I personally don't care for the famous "Cobb" salad (yikes, all that minced lettuce gives me the willies) and the grapefruit cake does nothing for me either. What we have enjoyed are the Lamb Chops (DS14's favorite), the grouper and the filet. We generally don't have room for dessert

We had two dining experiences that were okay/good in 2005 & 2006.
Then in Oct. 2008 and Jan. 2010 we had bad experiences and won't be back.
We really enjoyed the menu more back in 05-06, but were okay with the choices at our more recent visits. The biggest problem was service. In the 2008 time, we waited nearly an hour (with an ADR) and not due to being full, but because the host computer kept crashing. Once we sat, we were so rushed through our meal, that dinner showed up literally after 2 bites of our appetizer. We were bummed that it was our one meal splurge of the trip and though I love the desserts, didn't want to waste any more money.
In Jan. 2010, we went with my parents. We had an early dinner because the park was closing at 6pm. Also, the restaurant was less than half full because of this. Food was okay/good but service was awful! Our server barely spoke to us, and then my dad requested pepper for his entree... The server brought back the giant one meant for server use and just handed it to my dad and walked away. We have a very comical photo of my dad trying to use this huge pepper grinder from a seated position.

I understand that many people have great food and service here, but I can't recommend it.

Brown Derby is possibly my favorite restaurant in the parks, and it's easily the best restaurant at the Studios. I eat there almost every trip, I think I've eaten there seven times in nine trips.

I've always liked my appetizers and desserts there, the only thing I didn't really like once was a fish entree I had, and also a duck entree, which unfortunatly, happened to be on the same visit. My friend also had a bad fish entree there during my most recent trip, but my salmon had been excellant.

I thought that the "wait time" was way too long for the food being "average".
BD will not be on my "to eat" list for quite some time.

Just returned from Disney on 10/24 - had a fantastic dinner at BD. It was not a fantasmic night. DH and I have had dinners there every trip over the past 12 years. I have to say that this year we noticed a very nice positive change in the atmosphere. No offense to anyone - but we noticed the volume of noise had decreased (possibly due to the quick svc plan being added this year) and our service was wonderful. The food was better quality this year than in the past 3-4 years or so. I sent an email to Disney for the waitress that we had and how nice an experience we had.

Brown Derby seems to be the only restaurant that we frequent while in Disney. This coming December we have 3 ADR's for Brown Derby in a 10 day trip. We always make our ADR's when they first open (11:30). We rarely do BD for dinner. The cobb salad is amazing when you put the cobb dressing and the ranch together. The tuna tartar (on the dinner menu) is some of the freshest tuna we have ever had around Disney. Also my dads favorite dessert is the Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower, it's a big reason why we keep going back just so he can have that.

We love the BD, but haven't eaten there the last 2 years because we have used the dining plan. Really love the food, but not enough to use 2 dining credits.

Terrible...went years ago and vowed never again...and I'm not difficult to please. There are SO many more places to get your table service worth.
