took my daughters to see this show thursday night. I absolutely loved it. the play within the play concept, the gritty fairytale, the bittersweet instead of saccharine...

and Eden Espinosa, who plays the lead, was incredible. she got her start singing at Disneyland, you know.

Is it still in previews? Any great deals to be had? I saw Eden in Wicked (she was the standby for Elphaba) and she was phenominal.

it opens 10/21.

I saw Wicked when it first opened, with Idina as Elphaba, but I can see how Eden would be phenomenal in that role.

we got a deal through TDF, I think -- and so did half of the audience that night.

jennyanydots,
My DD loves Eden Espinosa! But, she's only ten. Can you give me an idea if there is any content that might not be OK for a ten year old? We'd love to see it if it's OK. Thanks.

ok, here's the scoop --

they do use some PG-13 words. and Eden Espinoza's character is searching for a father she never knew, because he didn't know she was ever born. but htings are suggested rather than shown. and one of the characters is a heroin addict and shoots up on stage -- but the drug addiction isn't glorified, it's portrayed as a miserable existence.
