Bromine or Chlorine?

Can anyone tell me if the moderate pools use Chlorine or Bromine?

I've never found a definitive answer when I researched it awhile back, but I am assuming that the swimming pools use chlorine because it is cheaper and bromine breaks down significantly with UV exposure. The benefits of bromine come into play when used indoors because it doesn't off-gas like chlorine.

I would love to know someday what exactly is chlorinated on property so I don't have to worry like the Wicked Witch of the West.

This question caught my eye since my DD is allergic to bromine but not chlorine. She gets a BAD rash all over whenever she's in a pool with bromine. We were in the pool at POR 2 years ago and she didn't react so I feel confident saying that pool uses chlorine!

It certainly smelled like chlorine when we were there last week! Very strong, IMO.
