Has anyone ever tried selling a ressie through a broker? I saw one site that charges between $15 & $20 (can't remember exact amount) to put up a posting, and since it is specifically for timeshare ressies would that be more successful than going through all the pain of putting something up on ebay? (Having never used it, I would have to open a PayPal -- which I never wanted to do! -- start buying things to get a user rating -- which I never wanted to do! -- and pay to post something that has a $6000 value, whether anyone bids a minimum amount or not! Yuck! But if those broker site postings do not work, at this point I do not see an alternative. For those who have followed my story, DH still has not found a job! Would you believe his brother, who "makes a living" (while living with parents although in his 40s) selling things on ebay would not let us use his rating to make things easier?

Have you thought of posting it on the Rent/Trade boards here?

You can try the broker but...

Have you looked for one of those new eBay drop off stores? I've never used one but I read that they set up the auction for you and take a fee. The whole idea came out of the west coast and I see them popping up on the east coast, so there should be one around you.

Good luck.

I'll have to look into that. As long as they only take a fee if it sells for over a minimum set price, that would be fine.

Update: I did look into the drop-off stores, and they only take things you can "drop off," not rental properties :(

What are your alternatives? Will your use year allow you to cancel the ressie and bank the points if no one responds? Also, even though it is a great ressie...it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If you can't rent them out soon, you might have better luck returning the points to your account and starting a new thread on the rent/trade board offering them based on when your use year ends vs. a specific ressie date. Good Luck and P&PD on new employment a.s.a.p. :goodvibes
