I broke my right toe again. All in all over the years I bet I have broken my little toe 5 or 6 times. I have it taped and put ice on it but does anyone have any better methods for helping it heal. Someone told me Papya tablets help healing. I don't care what it is I will use anything. I had babied my feet all summer so that heavier winter shoes would not hurt!

It has been about a week it was my last day in FLA and a bottle of water fell out of my bag and hit it dead on (of course it could be worse if it were frozen).

Did you call a toe truck:confused3:lmao:

Seriously now, I would think taping it to the next toe, icing, elevating and staying off it would help...but I am not a doctor.

I have no advice, just some thoughts that I hope it feels better soon. It stinks, I'm pretty sure I broke my second toe next to my big one when I fell at my local pool this summer. I did not have it xrayed since there's not much you can do about it. I taped, iced and kept off of it as much as possible, and took motrin as needed. It took a long time before it felt any better. There are days I still feel a twinge when I step on it the wrong way.

Keep off it as much as possible is my best advice!

My sister is a Radiologist so I had her do a quick x-ray of a very painful stubbed toe. It was definitely broken. She said really all you can do it tape it to the next one etc.
It took 3 weeks but finally my toe is fine. Of course I have broken another one in the meantime. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the good thoughts. I knew that there was nothing I could do but I HOPED there was some magical home remedy that I might not know about. I cannot believe it. I have broken my little toes so many times in so many different ways and I was so happy because this summer I had gotten my feet into good shape. It is so hard to find shoes and I was so looking forward to being able to actually wear shoes and not be in pain at the end of the day. I had to have my other toe operated on because it was cracked and did not heal. I HOPE this one does not do that..it took a year for that one to get back to normal. OH well I am not complaining....some people cannot walk so I am grateful itis only a broken toe!!

Thanks Again

I feel your pain. I have broken my baby toe on my foot foot so many times that just a light stubbing it shoots pain through me. It doesn't hurt on a day to day basis though. I just tape it and hope the nail stays on this time.

Were you wearing closed toed shoes when you broke your toe? I'm just wondering. My mom always insisted that I wore closed toed shoes growing up because I'm a klutz, and I just wonder if people who've experienced broken toes were wearing sandals or were barefoot. My mom instilled in me a fear of sandals!

I did break my big toe while wearing Keds in 1998. It hurt so much! I was working as a chambermaid and none of my shoes would fit over the swollen toe. I had to wear a Teva with socks on that foot for work (no open feet allowed) until the swelling went down.
