Broken oven/stove need meal ideas

In the future I'll be more conscious of starting more than one thread about smiliar topics.....I'll try to keep it all in one place. Sorry.

Just a little pattern there.

In my time of need and support I use to feel comfortable posting at will, not afraid of quotas. I will trust a DISer before Consumer Reports.

Tonight the OP is just being cyber shot down. I don't feel a pattern just a request and need :confused3

OP, with our home turning 19, seems every appliance is on its final countdown too. I am lucky that ds is handy and has fixed the heating elements in the dryers and oven. He does the burners, the furnace ignitions, and even washer panel issues buying me some time.

For the most part, getting the model no. and ordering parts, I found ebay the least expensive, but not the fastest fix.
Youtube has a video to repair just about anything too.

Oh, last year, I did my ham in the slow cooker and was great.

You can grill meats and veggies. Our grill also has a burner, so we can cook rice, potatoes, etc on it. You can grill potatoes too, but it's best to parboil them so that they are paritally cooked.

Slow cooker--stews, pulled pork, pork tacos, etc.

Camp stove--Cook pasta, heat sauces.

Get a cooked rotisserie chicken, make sandwiches, salads, tacos, etc.

My sister lived without a proper stove for more than a year! (they were renovating an old house.) She had a 2 burner hot plate, a toaster oven, and an electric skillet. Oh, and a crockpot. She made do, but boy was she glad to get a stove! I hope you get yours fixed soon. You can "Bake" things in an electric skillet. I don't know how but I'm sure you can find it online!

You could also get an electric burner too. We have one for our motor home. I like to sit outside on the picnic table and cook. It is just like a stove's burner. I think they cost about $10. I've cooked pasta, veggies, soup, rice, etc. on it. Basically anything you can cook on the stove. Works just great.

my oven broke last 4th of July.... still haven't gotten it fixed.... its amazing what u can make in the crockpot and I brought one of those lg electric roasters...for $30 .... I have ribs cooking in it now...
