My daughter recently broke her arm and is in a full arm cast. We leave for WDW tomorrow. Is there any truth to the rumor that with a note from a doctor, she can be accommodated through fast pass?

there is no "automatic fast pass" or "head of the line pass," and you do not need a note from a dr to get a needed acommodation. i would check out the FAQs about the GAC. what kind of accomodations would she need for the cast? what would she be unable to do without, for example, fast pass access? (just asking - these are the questions that you will have to answer at guest services - what she needs and what would help her enjoy the parks)

No a note from the doctor will not get you through fast pass.

A broken arm should not stop her from doing anything other then swimming.

You might want to be careful about rougher rides (like the safari) and roller-coasters, as she will find it harder to hold on one handed, and it may cause her pain to be rattled about too much. I can't see it affecting your holiday too much though, so don't worry and have fun! :thumbsup2

Just repeating what the others said.
No, there is no truth to that rumor.

On the park maps and on signs at the entrance to ride queues, you will notice some attractions are marked with a red triangle icon that shows there is a warning. You should look at the warnings and decide whether or not she should skip some of the ones with warnings. In general, WDW will not prevent her from going on any attractions; they issue the warning and it's up to you to decide if it applies to your situation or not. In the rare situation that a CM tells you she can't do a ride, it's because they really think it would be hazardous for her or other passengers.

Often the child is not provided a sling. I would get one that has equal weight distribution over both shoulders. Walking around with the weight all day will be very difficult.

GAC maybe able to assist with seated waiting area. I had the GAC in my fast pass carrier around my neck and was accomadated very compassionatly. For one thing the packed like sardine lines will jar and bang her arm. If she is small enough for a stroller, have a stroller for wheelchair access, si she can ride it in Ques and protect her better also.

Have fun,
dianne
