Broken arm, in a cast

My 10 yr old broke her arm 2 weeks ago. It's pinned & in a cast from wrist to just past her elbow. We're going to DLP in 2 weeks so I emailed them to see what she can & can't do. They suggested we go to City Hall first of all, with a doctor's letter stating she's fit to travel & that she may get a temporary Access pass.

They ADVISE she does not go on certain rides like BTM. She's gutted as she really wants to go on that one. Anyway her health comes first but I did wonder if anyone else has been to DLP with a broken arm. How did it go? Did you manage to go on very much?

First off, she should get a temporary access pass. You will need a letter from your Doctor, and they're give you an orange card. She can have one person accompanying her on rides if she uses it.
Now I'm going to sound mean. I have a 10 year old and I would NOT let her ride BTM with pins and a cast. They are giving advise for a reason, and it's a very bumpy ride. Not only can she risk smashing her arm on the bump bar and cart side, but she can't hold on properly. I know this will be upsetting, but as you say, her health comes first.
I would stay away from coasters, including RCRacer for the same reason. Casey Jnr should be ok though? Crush is definitely out of they advise BTM is out...
It's just not worth the risk. If they are saying something might not be suitable, then listen them. They are also covering their backs if something was to happen to your 10 year old. It would be you that is responsible.
What about using your travel insurance to move the holiday? Halloween is great fun and I'd rather change the dates and make sure everyone enjoys themselves (infact we just did that due to a medical condition of our own)

I was going to suggest the same - would you be able to claim on your travel insurance and postpone your holiday?

Thanks for your replies. To be honest if she'd only just broken her arm I would think about putting the holiday off. As it is, it will be 4 weeks since the day she broke it. At fracture clinic yesterday they said if we'd been going on a beach holiday they'd remove the cast just before we leave. As it's DLP they'll leave it on until we get home to give more protection.

We'll take things easy, won't take risks with her anyway
