I'm going to see it in theathers at the end of the month of the taping.
I'm seeing it too, on the 28th. I can't think of anything else, I'm so excited!
Actually I was there on the final performance! Well, I wasn't exactly THERE there, like watching the show. But here's the story: there was supposed to be a usual lottery for the last show, and even though I knew there were going to thousands of people there, I HAD to go. So I thought "8:00 show, about 6:30 lottery". Sure enough, the lotto was at 11 am, and the show was at 6:30. So I missed the lotto. But my mom knew I was bummed, so she took me down to the city to see the red carpet arrivals, and just to be there for the last time. Anyways, it was totally awesome. I think the best part was being amongst about 60-70 Rentheads, who couldn't get tickets to see the last show, but who loved the musical with a passion (may I just say...true Rentheads are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet). So at one point, we saw Anthony Rapp arrive, and to get his attention we all started screaming and stuff...but then one person started with, "to days of inspiration, playing hooky, making something out of nothing..." and we all had a huge Rent sing-a-long. We literally sang about 8 songs from the show! My mom even started singing! It was amazing. A few of us even got on the news! I was with all of these people who had different stories, but all loved Rent, and were saying goodbye to it for the last time. I have some pics of what it all looked like out there...maybe I'll put them up. But it was just a great way for me to say goodbye to my favorite musical. I was dying for tickets to the last show, but honestly this was great closure for me and everyone around me

Goodbye love!
Edit: that video makes me cry! I saw it after I read a bunch of reviews from people who saw it that night, and it's so sweet. This one girl next to me was being interviewed for a Broadway channel, and she said something I'll oddly always remember..."if you think about it, your mom's always home, and really, Rent's always home. it was always there, it's always been there."
