Brits Guide 2004, Any News!!

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone had any updates on when it will be available,or is it available now its just that I went to the Trafford centre today and neither smiths nor waterstones had any.

Very disappointed at not seeing any but my day was brightened up by meeting Linda Lusardi x page 3 who was doing a documentary there.

What was the documentary about - the mating rituals of the Lesser Spotted Brits Guide?


We went into Waterstones on Sunday - they had it on the computer as being published on 23rd Oct but none in stock.

Tried to order a copy from WHSmiths on Monday but the girl could not find it on the computer - not even with the ISBN She phoned the supplier who said it was not yet published. I promptly told her it was indeed published on the 23rd and argued with her that black was white before leaving empty handed and with my tail between my legs.


Has anyone actually had a copy in their clammy hands?

I've had a letter from the distributors (Macmillan) that they have bulk copies in stock and that my 6 free (!) copies are being despatched. Have yet to receive them, but this means supplies should now be moving out across the country. WH Smith are usually pretty efficient at getting stocks on the shelves, but I despair of Amazon just now who have decided it is one of their 'hard-to-find' titles and are charging an extra £1.99 for reasons my publisher just can't understand.

DH went into Waterstones yesterday and the assistant phoned the supplier who told her that they had no idea when the book with go into publication.
He couldn't order one for this reason but the assistant kindly took his address and phone number and said she would ring or write when it came into the shop.
