Church Street Station remains firmly closed (apart from the Improv Comedy Club in the former Rosie's and a Sports Bar in what used to be Apple Annie's. The former Crackers restaurant is now the fine dining of Louis' restaurant. The area is VERY quiet with how it used to be, though.

Cypress Gardens is still waiting on some State funding to see if it can re-open. No news here for several weeks now, which is not promising. However, I can thoroughly recommend Historic Bok Sanctuary as an alternative (www.boktower.org), in nearby Lake Wales (plus lunch at Chalet Suzanne - amazing!).

As regards the 2004 edition, we're still hoping for end of October, but things are running a little late just now (my faul!) and we will have to play catch-up in August.

Hi Simon,

I just had another read of the updates.

....and an even more daring Shark Dive opportunity, where you go down into the shark tank in a special steel cage (more details to follow).

Do you have any more info on this please? Is it open yet?

Thanks:p

Hi Simon

I recently bought your book to plan our family holiday in December. I lent it to my sister who LOST IT!!!!! Horrors......she has ordered me another from Amazon.......just as well or I may not let her come with us to WDW. She is actually bored now with me yelling "listen to this......" or " we must go here" , come to think of it maybe she didn't lose the book at all !!

Anyway, I have a question.

My family are all going to stay in the Quality Inn International Drive for 2 weeks (1-16 December 2003). I want to go to Seaworld- I love it - but if I remember correctly when I went at the same time in 1996 , Seaworld were doing a 2 days for the price of 1 deal on tickets. Since that seems to be a traditionally quiet time of year do you think it would be worth holding off and seeing if there are any deals available this year ?

Also- sorry another question.

When we arrive we plan to split into 2 groups. the men will golf and the ladies will shop and cruise with Disney. However we only have 1 car between us and need to be able to keep in touch. None of us have triband mobile phones , which we apparently need in the US....so do you know if it would be better to buy a couple of cheap phones there, hire them, or organise phones that will work before we leave the UK ?

Thank you for all your tips and advice, very much appreciated.

Hi there Highland Lass. As regards SeaWorld, the 2nd Day Free deal hasn't been that evident this year, so it is hard to say if it will be available in December. I'd like to say it is pretty certain, but this year has been a hard one to predict. If you're thinking of visiting Universal's parks as well, I would still advise you to get an Orlando FlexTicket. Then you get plenty of SeaWorld time.

For local radios or phones, they can work out quite cheap. Look up Action Radio & Cell on www.radiogirlz.com for more details. They offer a good, reliable service, and they deliver to hotels, too.

Thanks.

I think Maple Leaf are doing 2 for 1 deals at Seaworld. I will be taking my daughter to Universal so perhaps I'll take your advice re the Flex ticket.

In for a penny ....in for a dollar $$

:D

Hey Simon (if you are viewing),

As the author can you confirm whether the 2004 edition is actually out on the published date of Oct 1st as we are led to believe.

Some members here appear to have conflicting info.

Thanx,

Sweeney

Hi there all. I'm afraid I don't quite know where Amazon got that Oct 1 date from. For the last few years we have worked to a date of Oct 31 as our main publication date for the next year's edition, and that means it is usually distributed on the week immediately after that date. In an ideal world, it will then be in shops by the middle of November (it sometimes takes them more than a week to actually put it out on display). I haven't heard of any hold-ups in publication, but then I'm usually the last to hear about those anyway  I do know that the next edition of our cruise book has been delayed by more than a month, and we were a couple of weeks late in finishing off for 2004 this summer (end of August). I wish I could direct to the publisher's website, but that is currently down for a major rebuild :( More news when I get it...........

Simon,

I am so dissapointed :-( we are leaving on 31st October.

Just got an email from Amazon saying they expect the publishers to release the book on 23rd October and they will dispatch it to me as soon as they can after that. That's an improvement on 10th December!

Can't wait to start planning!
