Britney Spears' Latest Video

I just caught a quick glimpse of Britney Spears' latest video "My Prerogative (sp?)" a remake of the old Bobby Brown song.

What is it with her or maybe I'm old (which I am) but she looks like she's doing her very best Madonna imitation. I can't help but feeling that she is trying to copy everything Madonna has done. For some reason, Madonna was able to pull it all off--Britney just can't for some reason.

Does anyone else pick up the similarities? There was just something about this video that screamed "Madonna" to me.

I think the problem lies in the sort of image she tries to give off the rest of the time. She pretends to be this sweet southern girl but from what I've seen in the papers lately and from her music videos, they speak otherwise. Madonna always had that additude, on or off camera so I think she was able to pull it off. Britney has definitely taken it too far

As a closet Britney fan...I have to say I like her...she has always said she'd like to be like Madonna, and her and Madonna are great friends, and Madonna supports her 'imitations'.
I have yet to see that video (no cable in the hicks) but I've noticed it before as well. You're right about Madonna acting the same way regardless of surroundings, but I still like Britney

* How many has she had? [don't actually want an answer to that one, since it's NOMDB]
* How on earth do you know?

Back to the OP, I just watched the video online [side note: mrowr!!!!] and the Madonna influences I saw were the inclusion of religious imagery, the solo writhing on the bed, and the riding crop stuff. [Once again: mrowr!! Don't care how "overexposed" she is, Girlfriend is HOT.]

The most disturbing thing to me is how much she looks like Jessica Simpson with her hair hot-rolled. Especially in the scene in the black bustier - it's really freaky.

1. Either seven or eleven
2. She has confirmed in interviews
3. When someone has seven or eleven abortions it shows a wreckless abuse and disregard of life
4. I choose not to support her, and to voice my disgust, and I am pro-life so I'm sure you'll call me a bigot, but I I'd rather be called that than to brush off 7 or 11 abortions as nothing.

I really don't dislike Britney and didn't start this thread as a bash against her, I just shake my head and fail to see why she needs to go down the Madonna path. She needs to find her own schtick, ya know?? Copying Madonna just irritates me. But she did look fabulous in the video. Again, reminds me of Madonna. Britney is even starting to get real ripped like Madonna.

I think she feels the need the "jump start" her career again and since changing images always worked for Madonna...she probably figured why not try it?

I think BS has not had alot of good advice from family and friends and she looks like a sad little girl playing grown up. Madonna always came across as determined and street wise....Brittany looks lost.

But I do like some of her songs, I've been known to sing along and I really liked Bobby Brown's My Perogative...haven't seen B's version yet.
