Is there any place to find decent deals? I'm mostly looking for DVDs of Doctor Who (9-11 but dabble in Classic Who), Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, Primeval and Being Human.

TIA! :happytv::happytv::happytv:

I don't know but if you find one can you let me know :rotfl:

The new who and some of the classics you can see on Netflix instant at least. I get the newest episodes on Amazon.com (we don't have cable) for a $1-2 each (plus whatever I can get swagbucks to pay for). At least a season of Primeval is on Netflix instant as well and all of Torchwood. No solution for Sarah Jane for you :(

I know it's not as good, but you're not alone if it's any consolation. :goodvibesI see the prices on all these other DVDs and seasons in the states go on sale all the time, but for the months I've been looking I've never see those ones go down.

some times around the holiday season amazon has all there BBC shows up to 40% but alot of the times I find that they rise the prices first which is a bummer... I too have been looking for decently priced BBC shows... the problem with the older Doctor Who shows is that they sell them in 2 shows per disc much like the specials like Waters on Mars and the Christmas specials so those can get pretty pricey so I've basically just bought favorite episodes of the older shows...

and what makes it worse at least for me is I'm trying to get all my stuff on Blu Ray now since I got a PS3 for christmas

With the popularity of the new Doctor the new stuff might become slightly better priced and since theres the new season of torchwood this summer coming you might be able to find it better

I've found Sarah Jane chronicals at a comic con this past fall used for a decent price so it you go to cons you might be able to find something at merchants row

Good Luck

Our local library has lots of the British shows on DVDs. We have also gotten them from NetFlix. I think DH may have purchased some at Sams or BJs, but I can't be positive.

I posted before but it hasn't shown up :confused3

We have gotten a lot of the BBC shows off Netflix (via DVD, mostly) and we have found that our local public library has a large collection of British Shows on DVD (for free!). Most recently my hubby had the Sarah Jane ones.

We too have watched a lot of British TV through Netflix via our ROKU player. Just finished up watching Season 9 of MI-5 (Spooks).

Some Dr. Who episodes are available for streaming, as well as many other series from the BBC.

I agree with the Netflix suggestion but if you want to own the discs vs jsut watch them, I have had good luck on ebay. :) We are Dr. Who addicts in our house. My DS even has a sonic screwdriver and some action figures!

Since you want to own dvds of these shows, have you tried online at BBC America http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/142/shop.jsp?

I've ordered from them in the past and signed up for their emial list. I sometimes receive emails from them about sales and deals.

Thanks for all the info!

As for DW I'm a Ten and Eleven girl (but I want Nine's season since I started my DW habit with New Who). I knew Sarah Jane Adventures would be a challenge along with Being Human (maybe when S1 of the SyFy version comes out the UK version may not be far behind?).

David Tennent will always be my Doctor.. but Christopher Eccleston was a pretty good Doctor but Rose always annoyed me and Matt Smith is growing on me..

I saw the Sarah Jane Adventures at my local Borders today for $40. Borders currently has a coupon for 40% off any one item good through Monday. With the 40% off the price would be about $24. You may want to check your Borders to see if they have a copy.

I saw a season of Being Human for a low cost at Target. You might want to check there in their discounted TV section.

Hope you see this, but today Doctor Who is 61% off on Amazon as the gold box deal. I wish I could justify it, but I just can't as long as we have netflix. I do so wish I could justify having those DVDs on my shelves though!

If you're not hard core about OWNING, but simply WATCHING some BBC programming... then Netflix is a great choice from Dr Who to Fawlty Towers to MI-5. Lots of streaming options. Also should add... that if you are an Amazon Prime member there's a whole host of options, for free, on their Video On Demand service.

Definately our favorite Britcom of all times, keeping up appearances is well worth the price today
