Sorry too lazy to find Buzz's UK thread.

In books they talk about wearing a vest. To me a vest is this.

Is this top what that they mean or are they referring to something else? kind of like you folks tend to say jumper rather than sweater.


Also are cakes like cupcakes or slices of a large cake? (as per the unhealthy foods thread...)

I don't know about the vest, but I do believe "cakes" can refer to like any kind of cake, but it is often the kind of little cakes served with tea, like this:

Yeh, ‘vests’ are something you wear to stay warm in the winter under your other clothes. A ‘vest top’ for a woman is like a strappy top.

Cakes are just cakes of any variety. Biscuit on the other hand complete different to what you would call a biscuit 😂
