Not trying to vote again but the other thing to consider is the aircraft type.

I noticed that some of the Continental flights still use the narrow bodied 757. If thats the case then I would DEFINITELY say go BA since IMO having a wide bodied aircraft is much nicer as you can move around a lot more easily.

And you SHOULD move around on along-haul flight as DVT is very, very nasty!

Never flown with BA, but this year will be our 4th or 5th time with CO.

We like their service, as well as the fact that you clear customs in Newark so there is no faffing around in Orlando.

We have always found the baggage allowance to be adequate to, bo problems there.

As for connection times, we always allow at least 3 hours, immigration can take some time, and what's the point in panicking and rushing through the airport? We like to have a mooch in the shops and get some food, the kids can stretch their legs and have a run around, DS likes plane spotting - so we do a bit of that too! :)

Last time we flew with them in January we had seat back tvs, and it seemed as though the planes had been upgraded to have the seat back tvs and plugs under the seats for laptops etc. The entertainment was good, kids enjoyed the games. DS who was just about to turn 2 watched Toy Story with no ear phones in as he couldn't keep them in - but still enjoyed it! LOL

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, especially if they are cheaper than BA.

I haven't voted, as I've flown with both and would be happy to fly with either again - in fact, over the weekend I have booked with both of them! :thumbsup2

I booked BA flights for DH and his fishing mate for Heathrow to Miami in May, and I booked Continental for DD and me for Bristol to Orlando (via Newark) in April :teeth:

After I'd booked I had to phone Continental a few times (for reasons far too complicated to explain here, but not through any fault of theirs  ) and everyone I spoke to was extremely helpful and polite.

I always book based on the best combination of price / route / departure airport as, in our experience, I don't think there's a lot of difference between the different carriers.

On second thoughts, the 'welcome' video from Continental's MD at the commencement of their flights is enough to make me vote for Continental - I don't think it's supposed to be funny, but it always makes me grin! ;).

I've never flown with BA on this route (have done on LGW to Bermuda and was not particuarly impressed) but have flown MAN - Newark - MCO three times with Continental and will be doing so again in Aug so yes I'm more than happy with them.

We had great entertainment (much better than Virgin) with individual controls on the films (no more missing the punchline when you need the loo or the stewardess asked what you wanted to eat!) and games. Seat pitch was better than Virgin.

Clearing customs in Newark is much faster and you will lose the hour which the BA flight gets in earlier in Immigration at Orlando. Last trip via Newark it took me exactly half an hour between stepping off the plane in Orlando to driving out of the airport!! Anything over a two hour layover is enough - 2 1/2 to 3 is very relaxed.

My best advice is to check the planes used on each flight (flightguru.com ? Wayne will probably know!) for the entertainment as I don't know if the Glasgow route is the same.
