British Airways or Delta?

Hope you don't mind me dropping in. We are in the southern U.S. and are planning a trip to Europe next year. We basically have two flight options -- Delta or British Airways. Since we'll be flying from one place to another in Europe, if we choose Delta, we'll have to change carriers -- i.e. use Delta to get us to London and then use British Airways or some other carrier to fly to Barcelona. (Delta doesn't fly from London to Barcelona.)

How do you feel about British Airways and the service offered?

Thanks for your help!

Julie

I'd choose Delta, we flew with them in October and the flights were really great.

With the BA strikes at the moment I don't trust them enough to book with them for our trip next year.

I've flown BA in the past and had no problems - indeed I've found them to be quite a good airline and I've always been pleased with the service.

Flying with BA for both legs would give you the advantage of not having to change terminals (assuming you fly in and out of heathrow), plus BA use Terminal 5 exclusively, which is (in my opinion) by far the best terminal at Heathrow to fly through.

Having said that, as both previous posters have mentioned, BA are currently having problems with striking cabin crew members. Whether they'd still be going on next year or not - I have no idea. Personally I'd like to think that the two sides would come to an agreement at some point and the strikes wouldn't drag on an entire year, but you just can't quite be sure.
