I would like to get one of these as a gift for someone. Does anyone know where to get the best deal? I've seen deals on here before for them but I haven't seen anything recently.

Thanks!

Normally Target has great deals on these in January during their big baby clearance. I'm sure other baby sites have some good deals that month, too. I got our second Marathon during the July clearance at Target for $136.

:thumbsup2 we just got the Britax Frontier at www.babycatalog.com . the one we got was $279 on sale, and then they take off another 20% off when you add it to your cart. (brings it to $223.99) all of the Britax car seats have additional savings off the sale price, but it looks like the % off depends on which seat it is. They also ship free for orders over $99....we got ours in about 3 days after ordering. they were terrific! :thumbsup2

Wow! What an awesome gift! I got mine and the one I bought for my parents from Toys R Us with a 20% off coupon. Still expensive, but well worth every penny.

I agree great gift! And if it's used for it's full 6 years (most car seats are good for 6 years from Date of Manufacture) it's pennies per day! Too bad we can't pay pennies per day for one. My DD is still in a Wizard and my DS is in a Husky ~ it expires this June and I think he'll fit in it till then! My best Britax deal was a Marathon that I bought at Target 2 Decembers ago for $69! It had been made in June of that same year! It's now being used by my 1 year old niece, cute Brooke cover! Good luck finding a deal. What seat are you considering?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will check them out.

I'm thinking about getting one of the Roundabout Convertible Car Seats.

They are good friends and I want to try to help them out.

I have one teeny suggestion about the Roundabout seats-- if you have the money, definitely upgrade to the Marathon. The child(ren) will get MUCH more use out of it because of the higher weight limits. :thumbsup2

They're great seats, we have two-- one for DH's car, one for mine.

^Great point about the Roundabouts- kids outgrow them quickly. Also, both of these seats have high rear-facing limits- up to 33 or 35 pounds depending on the year. Since that is the safest position, it is a nice feature.

The lowest I have ever seen a Marathon is about $200 and that was a discontinued pattern. We paid $250 each at BRU during a sale (bought two at once- ouch I know:sad1:). They are great seats!

If you're buying for a little girl, check out albeebaby.com. We got our daughter's marathon for $179, it is a discontinued pattern; the "Ashley." What an amazing gift!!

Stay away from the Roundabout ~ no need to spend all that $$ on a seat that only goes to 40 lbs ~ spend a bit more for a seat that will last much longer ~ both weight and height - a child is too tall for their seat when their shoulders are above where the harness comes out of the back of the seat **forward facing - for rear facing **which is much safer** the shoulder harness needs to be at or below the child's shoulders.

I totally agree on the Roundabout. I had to purchase that one for my parents b/c my mom's car is smaller and the Marathon wouldn't fit rear facing, but definitely go with the Marathon if possible. They will get years more use out of the seat, whereas the Roundabout will not be used after 40 pounds. I believe the Marathon will get them to 65 pounds.
